Evening all,

Going to be using the A66 from Penrith to Scotch Corner or a fairly regular basis. Are there any speed cameras on that stretch of the road?

I've travelled the road in the past and cant recall any. Just wondered if there were any installed in the last couple of years.

Thanks.

There's a short average speed zone at Kirby Thorp, I think that's the town name. The camera vans jump from place to place every few days so you have to keep your eyes peeled

don't rely on Waze - failed me on an early Sunday morning near the Brough turn off - mobile van parked on verge over brow of rise.

There are regular revenue gathering vans on the A66, favourite spots are about 2-3 miles west of Scotch corner on the dual carriageway section, seen them early morning and evening. They cover both carriageways and they are in a dip both sides you are on them before you realise.

Also top lay-by on the top of Stainmoor summit and east and west of Warcop vans park up
