Well me too actually though I haven't waxoiled this year so decided that going out on salty roads may not be sensible. Scratch that, I can always hose the frame down when I get home.

Sounds good, 7th Feb. I do hope byff's able to come along; I love driving my Chimaera in convoy with a Cerbera. Nearer the time I'll contact Dexy with his wedge. We need some non-tiv's. Are you likely to come in the Westy or is it still poorly?

if you don't mind waiting at various points for a marlin, and it's running ok (and I can afford it), I'll come along

I'm almost indecently excited about the promise of this trip! what's the route? all the way to blakey? there's a brilliant pub there called the lion inn which does black sheep (halves only of course!) and great food - do bear in mind though wherever we go I will have to fill up every 75 miles .....unfivetunately my tank is minuscule, and the way I cain it...well...less said the better!

Hold yourself there matey. It's a few weeks off yet.

If you can line up a few Newcastlers, Wildfire et al, we Teessiders will meet you somewhere around Teesside Airport and I'll plan a country route through to the Lion Inn. If we're planning the 7th then the The Talpore plan on 'tracysworld' would need to be scratched.

docevi1, are you up for this. It's a long run but you'll enjoy every mile. It'll be approx 120 mile round trip from Newcastle, recon on 5 gallons.

I'd be more than happy to attend any winter meets in the Marcos (and the summer ones too!!)
Except for the small matter of it being in bits at the moment.
I've given up saying when it'll be on the road though, I always end up disappointed.
So I'll see you all when I see you.

You betcha I'm up for a run out. I'd rather it was a Sunday cos I finish Nightshift on Saturday morning, so a couple of hours sleep before driving is not advisable.

I'm OK for Sunday 8th. We could leave both open and wait for a weather forcast on Friday 6th, then choose.

Get yourself in that garage and put it back together.

I know, we'll have another event. Lets all pile around your house and put it back together for you. It may never run again though.

It lives outside, and it's cold and wet at the moment...

Anyone is welcome to visit, but the reason it's in bits is cos I'm re-trimming the interior, which is slloooowwww work.

I work Sunday's, and it somewhat difficult (although not impossible) to arrange a day off without losing a days holiday (which I can't do at the moment - allocated after you work x days...).

I'd be up for it distance wise (not averted to driving), but only if the weather is decent enough - I'm a fine weather person

The other thing is that at the moment the Marlin isn't fixed (waiting till my exams are finished till I start working on it).

Assuming no problems and it starts again, and you appreciate I aint a quick driver (and try my hardest not to break speed limits) and more importantly I'm still learning to drive the sodding car (had somewhat of a 2month break at the moment) I'd love to join everyone.

no you aren't, there are lots of us. Once you see past the max-power drivers, there are a lot of young people terrified to break the law due to the repurcusions (insurance hike et al). Oh, and as I pointed out, last time with the whole spinning the wheels out of the car park, scared the poop out of me

There are other reasons for me personally, but due to the type of people on this board (not this thread, but PH as a whole), I have decided to not discuss them nor offer my opinion on matters. I hope you can understand.

Lion Inn Blakey, that'd be Blakey Ridge? South of Castleton North Yorkshire? you were spot on Bob, 120m round trip

Bugger, just checked the dates and I'm competing in the 4x4 on Sunday.

It'll have to be Saturday for a blast.
