I've just posted this in 'events/meetings/travel' to see how much general interest there is. On that post I removed the suggestion that bacon butties were on the menu. Didn't wan't to drop you in it.

Watching closely, and well interested. However still restricted badly by littl'un, so may still have to watch in envy.

I'll be up for it, maybe not in my car but certainly as a roving camera man.

Would that be the new Chimaera you've been promising yourself or have you bought a hotdog van and you plan to follow us around and keep us nourished?

Sounds Fantastic!!! Count me in. Summer if poss for longer days and shorter nights (I fear for my co-drivers sanity)

Just to add my 2p worth in for the monitoring of it, how about road rally style. Set check points, set times (ariving early or late incurrs a penalty), fewest miles wins. This means we can incorporate the fun of having winners with the social side of things (bacon butties and candle lit suppers) and no one has to prove who has the biggest engine...... says the Elise driver in the corner

Is that a top speed of over 160 but under 170? In any case, you'll still be behind me Is there any three mile straights on this run because I've never been over 170 yet.

Seriously, any dates planned - I'm pretty easy as long as I have a weeks notice.

I thought this should be an early Saturday morning start during the spring/summer months. As long as there's 30ish cars confirmed then it'd be worth going the extra mile and putting proper effort into the organising.

As for timed stages I think we'd be on very dodgy ground. It is definitely not allowed. I guess 'least miles' would be OK but then again this is a cruise (convoy) so we should all clock up the same number. Any legal ideas of how to create competition would be gratefully received
