I popped up to Tamworth yesterday to pick up a heated windscreen for my Hawk Stratos rep. On the way back, I stopped for a bite to eat in a service station which I'm 99% sure was on the M6.

Unfortunately, when I got home I realised that I'd left my jacket behind on my seat back of the table I used. I'd like to get the jacket back. But, I'm not sure which service area I stopped in.

I'm not too bothered about the jacket. But, it had a Daytona 500 pin on the lapel. It was a memento of my trip to the 2009 NASCAR classic race. So, I'd like to call the service station to see if someone handed the jacket in.

I think there was a 'Days Inn' on the other side of the carriageway, there were certainly ads for it at the entrance. A single cash machine sat to the left of the entrance doors too and the station itself had from left to right as you looked at them, a Burger King, KFC and a general restaurant. There was an amusement arcade on the right just past a WH Smiths and a Costa Coffee was on the left as you entered.

I think that there was a stand alone Waitrose store on site too.

I know that sounds like every service station in England. But, maybe you locals know which one I'm talking about.

Any suggestions will be very gratefully received.

My first bet would be Corley Services.

I followed the sat-nav. That's why I've no idea which services I visited. I've checked photos of a few of them & I don't recognise a thing.

Looks like my jacket, with its Daytona pin is gone. Oh well.

Presumably you have checked the satnav route and seen which Welcome Breaks you would pass on way to Tamworth.

London > Tamworth.

Newport Pagnell
Corley

Possibly Leicester Forest East?
Possibly Oxford if you came up the M40, but then you wouldn't use M6.

London Gateway????

Sorry Blib, I've learnt from painful experience never to take anything for granted.

Tamworth is Moto, hotel is Travelodge, shop is Marks and Sparks, so I'd suggest it's not the place Blib is looking for.

Is there anyway you can narrow things down by time between you left & time you stopped?

It was within 30 minutes of leaving the windscreen place in Tamworth.

Corley has all those, plus a Days Inn, plus a Waitrose.

Newport Pagnell doesn't have a BK but has all the rest.

Sorry dude, looks like somebody has walked off with it.
