So - for the first time in a while, yesterday I used the Worcester - M42 stretch....

Was the months and months of purgatory worth it to add an additional lane which has confused the MLMs who can't work out whether to use lane 2 or 3 ?

And was it another revenue generation scheme to enable HADECs to be attached to numerous gantries?

Saw some poor sod yesterday doing hyper speed (on a virtually deserted stretch) who will be asked to attend court if they are indeed live cameras....

"Smart Motorways" seem to be flavour of the month with stretches appearing with HADECs all over the place...

It is depressing to see that, as motorists, we are held to ransom by road construction companies for month after month as they have mile after mile of roads controlled by average speed cameras...

It was mind numbing going the best part of 20 miles on the M6 at a posted 50mph which, due to the inaccuracy of speedometers, meant at best we were doing 45mph as the numpties self policed the motorway...

Having just come back from 3 weeks in Turkey I can honestly say their main roads are much better than ours, nicer to drive and not hampered by bloody cones...road workers do a hard days graft and get on with it, drivers are much more relaxed and you seldom (if at all) see any road rage or anger, plus slower vehicles move over out of the way.
