Hi all,

I've had a search through the forums but I can't find much or it's very old, so hope I'm OK asking here.

I've got a much loved Subaru Impreza 2.0 GX (no turbo!) from 2002 which is playing up. Not an especially valuable car, but I've been in and out of hospital recently, so can't afford a replacement, a lot of stuff is still good (working AC on a 16 year old car!) and I also have a set of wheels/snow tyres which I'd have to replace on a new car - not cheap.

It's been running very poorly for a while now - keeps throwing fuel trim codes P0170, but I've not been having any success with local garages, and I'm loathe to take it to a main dealer due to costs. I've been getting it back often with it running fine for a little while, but it's soon back in.

Can anyone recommend somebody who doesn't mind doing a really thorough job on an old motor? I know it's not worth a lot, and I'm likely to keep running into issues, but I'd really like a proper diagnosis of what's actually wrong before I scrap it and buy another to get through the winter. Willing to travel within reason.

Cheers!

Hi

Owned several scoobies, inc. Classic, Newage, Hatch and STI's. All my work is carried out by Thwaite Developments - http://tdracing.co.uk/

Can't recommend them enough. Its a small family business. Tony and Mark are great and have great experience with Subarus. Nothing but praise for their work and attitude. They are based in warwickshire and are worth a trip.

I have also used RCM, scooby clinic and scooby world. All great places to have a subaru looked at / cared for. But TDRacing get my top vote everytime.

Thanks
Steve
