We’ve two energetic children who want to go for a walk in Derbyshire tomorrow where they can scramble over rocks and up hills.

Dovedale aside any suggestions please?

I went to Higger Tor on wednesday. It's just outside Hathersage (has a heated lido that's nice). You can park near the Tor and the kids will love it.

Google's your friend.

Me too...it’s a bit of a crap walk though.

Curbar Edge might be quite exciting?

Another vote for Curbar edge, or Padley gorge. http://www.near-chesterfield-derbyshire.com/padley...
you can park for free near Grindleford station then watch the trains going in and out the tunnel then do the walk, there's a national trust cafe /tea room at the top.
Or go to Chatsworth pay a couple of quid to park in their car park and you can use all their facilities, go to the kiosk and you should be able to buy a guide for the Stand wood walks, which take you up to the huting towers and all above Chatsworth, great views, plenty of "up" and you can do a complete circuit of Chatsworth outside the grounds

Thanks everyone. We went to Curbar Edge. So did half the population of the East Midlands it appeared. Nonetheless we had a good time, knees skinned, car muddied and everyone happy.
