I’m looking for a body shop to do a relatively small repair to my classic in the Leicester area.
Their ability to colour match by eye is very important as it’s not a regular colour and spectrometers can’t guarantee a good match.
Thanks

I can see why you’ve used them plastic, with your car, but are they good at colour match?
I’ll give them a ring tomorrow

Just to wind things up, the insurance co. paid me up front which helped enormously.
I use Reem machine over in Ilkeston. They did an outstanding job quickly and at a competitive price and I took the opportunity to take care of a few bits.
All in all, very happy

Hi all.

Just wondering if any of you guys have have the above bodyshops mentioned above [since the last post] or have any further recommendations in the Midlands[ish] area?

Looks like I'm in need of a bit of rust repair! Currently I'm thinking of speaking to Farriers Jaguar in Leicester and Northfield Jaguar in Brum as both have bodyshops and are obviously pretty clued-up on all things S-Type.

Its not always the body shop that carries out the colour match - many have their paint supplier do it for them.

Unless it's changed Farriers used to sub out bodywork. But you will get a decent job done.

Thanks both.

Yes, I was going to ask Farriers if bodywork is carried out in-house. Not necessarily a problem if it isn't, as they'd ultimately be responsible for the end result and I've only ever heard good things about their work and customer service.

Obviously the alternative is just to go direct, to a place like the above.

Found rust on the arches of my S-Type R at the weekend, after I gave her a good clean...I'm hurting at the mo frown

I have been using Farriers for 15 years and wouldn't use anyone else for JLR stuff.

Good to hear. They do actually know my car inside-out, as the previous owner used them for his 6 years of ownership. The Jag specialist I use [closer to where I live] doesn't do bodywork, I believe [though I will have to double check], hence I thought of Farriers.
