It looks like the Peak District site might not go ahead, but they are posting on Facebook as though it is.

Hi all,

Myself and a friend have recently set up iGNiTiON cars and coffee in the Peak District on Baslow Road just outside off Chesterfield. We are having sold out open day event on the 2nd of January but will be open every weekend from then on, with plans to open up more as we get busier through spring. We are doing top quality breakfast, light lunch bites and hot/cold drinks to start with, but again plan to expand the menu onto full evening meal offerings.

They just didn’t get planning permission for the extra parking etc. Nothing to stop them reopening the pub.

The car park as I remember is quite large. And they also have grassed areas to the rear, which I assume they could still use for parking.

I would imagine so. The pub has previously held classic car meets and used the grassed areas.

Some of the comments in that’s article are so over the top that they’re bordering on hysterical. The possibility of a new C&M has certainly riled up the locals who appear to want the pub left to rot.

I bet the cars driving along the B5035 are generally travelling along slower than the motorbikes that "buzz" the Peak District roads & which seem to have been overlooked in this situation. Many of the accidents in the wider area will sadly be motorbike related or young locals taking liberties with the roads IMO.

Also local to me. I can't work out from the website though - must I book in advance if I want to pop in?

I did when I went a few weeks ago. However it wasn't that busy and nobody asked me if I had booked when I got there.

I have been twice over the last 2 weeks. Never booked just rocked up. But was in a motorcycle, however it was not full.
However I booked for next week due to it being a feature Saturday, so it might get busy.
If your local like I am, just turn up and see. It's a very nice venue.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. We have a booking system in place to help manage the site ready for when it gets busy. We’re trying to encourage it so visitors are used to it prior to the busy season. At the moment we usually have space to pop in apart from in event days, so obviosly your all welcome to do that - but come spring i think we may have an issue. Booking also helps us manage staff and stock. We only use local fresh ingredients so so weekends we can run out, other weekends we throw £hundreds of stock away as the turnout is so variable.

We have a lot of plans for expansion, the support from the cad community has taken us all by surprise so thank you all for that.

I heard a rumour that they're taking over The Stag @ Redhill too. Any idea if its correct?
I don't think so - I spoke to Phil about his plans a few weeks ago and the Stag doesn't fit in with what he told me their plans going forward are.
I found out some more, The Stag is an Adam Weaver thing.
