There’s definitely a few similar venues starting to pop up, albeit more in industrial areas.
Bafflehaus in South Wales is bike-focussed but still a good place to pop into, and right on the door of some lovely roads.

I have been a few times, and it is good, but seems a bit overhyped to me. Having more than one venue will probably help.

Is this going to be at the Knockerdown?

I’m not sure that this is going to be great. We used to live in the barn conversions just down from the Knockerdown and my parents still live in Hognaston.

Check my profile. That’s where the mk2 Gti was built.

There are some brilliant roads in the area. But this type of venue just attracts the nobbers. Even worse the nobbers with money and fast flash noisy cars. It will be similar to Sundays in Matlock. And that’s coming from someone who just started the DAS.

There will be all wkery of driving, the Police presence will increase, the local residents will get fed up and it will ruin it for those who live in the locality.

Still. Hopefully parking will be free on the bike…..

What’s wrong with using a card though? Seems odd that asking for cashless payments ‘killed it’
Personally cash only would be worse for me (I never carry any!).

Im in the next village of Hulland ward.
I think the original C&M will take some beating. So we will have to see. There is a lot of nice machines in this area, both cars and motorbikes. Good luck with your DAS, good luck finding a quite motorcycle smile
I agree with what you say about police presence increasing.

Knowing a lot of the roads in the area in question & how accessible it is to the wider area (if you’re a determined petrolhead), I can see some of the reason for locating such a venue there. I do agree with some of the comments that it will raise a few obvious road traffic issues & could have been better sited on/very close to an A road such as the A515, A6 or the A523. One things for sure, it’ll be a hardy petrolhead who turns up in the winter season for Sunday morning brekkie given how bad the weather can be up there compared to down around say Derby etc. wink

PS, I’ve just checked the selling agents details & it sits in 10 acres....I’d love to see how big a car park they will be allowed given level of custom at their existing facility and how much more sensitive the planners are in the Peak District.

Yes it’s a big site. I’m sure they have a plot that’s currently used for camping.

I’m sure they were meant to be building something in the plot next door. Was a few years ago now. The access is there.

The long straight below the reservoir will just become a drag strip.

Thanks. I have always wanted a bike and at 38 I finally think I’m sensible enough. I’m currently on a 125 and avoid Matlock at all costs at the weekend. It’s really not my scene and there are far too many bell end power rangers giving all a bad rep.

You’ll catch me at Chatsworth farm shop on a Sunday morning!

Maybe I have been a bit harsh. If everyone behaves themselves it should be a good venue. My proposed Monster should fit in nicely. And it will absolutely have Termi pipes smile

They do their best not to cheese people off in Ettington, but despite them asking people not to be idiots, a few cannot help themselves.

Derbyshire police are pretty hot on speeding etc so no doubt they'll be pretty hot on making sure that people are not being too stupid on the way in.

Strange, I was the other day and they accepted cash....
Ahh cool, must have had 2nd thoughts then with customers turning away and leaving as I indeed did with another car also. Might go back now.

I like to use cash, what's so wrong in that? Also, don't wish to go through statements in detail every month either. Another thing I don't like whilst I'm at it is ordering via an 'app'.

Whilst I agree with some of your post re; bad driving, increased Police presence I do take exception at the stereotype you describe. I have McLaren now having saved, worked and built up to it all my life, I don't have loads of money and at 63 I'm still a manual worker climbing up on roofs. I'm no nobber with money that's for sure, just an enthusiast.

Just seems strong that moving to card killed the place.

The app ordering works better (mostly) in my experience. It used to take an absolute age to order pre-covid, especially on a really busy day.

I did say it killed it for 'me' and the company with me had the same thoughts. As for apps', it suits some but just not for me, I like to 'talk' to someone, ask them about the menu etc you know, communicate and not have my head stuck in a phone. Old fashioned today maybe but seems being sociable is becoming an outmoded concept.

I will apologise as I should not have generalised. I should not have linked money to cars. I should have said any car driven by a nobber.

I heard they bought this place… no evidence of that though.

I’ve been c&m a few times, first time was in the week of it opening when it was full of rare, gentleman owned exotica, then a couple of months after that, when it was mental, full of instagram tags and snow foam wkers, before they had to ticket it.
Single marque organised days are dull in my opinion, i prefer to see variety!

I’m only an hour away from the new (alleged) venue, so i’ll be attending.

It’s definitely there, if you a google search it’s been registered with companies house.
