That’s the place. Interweb shows it recently sold. It is a great location with lovely views.

I went on Wednesday on my bike, but they wouldn't let me in as I didn't have a ticket.

I then went on Friday and got asked for a ticket again, but they let me in as they hadn't sold out. Food was about 35 quid for 2 burgers and chips, took a few times on the app though.

I couldn't order drinks though as they didn't list bitter shandy and queuing at the bar was low priority to table service.

When I went on a Saturday morning, I could only stay till 12 as I didn't have a ticket.

Vibe seems OK, some decent cars, I guess people feel as good as the car they came in, but I like anything interesting.

I heard they bought this place… no evidence of that though.

I’ve been c&m a few times, first time was in the week of it opening when it was full of rare, gentleman owned exotica, then a couple of months after that, when it was mental, full of instagram tags and snow foam wkers, before they had to ticket it.
Single marque organised days are dull in my opinion, i prefer to see variety!

I’m only an hour away from the new (alleged) venue, so i’ll be attending.
It’s definitely there, if you a google search it’s been registered with companies house.

Sounds overpriced and overhyped

Living in this area for most of my life, there is very little for both cars and bikes. Maybe we should be pleased that for people in Derbyshire we will have a caffeine and machine on our doorstep.
For the people who are determined to put a downer on the venue even before it's open, maybe you should stick to the sainsburys car park meets and let the enthusiast try and make this new site work. I truly hope lightning can strike twice and the new venue is as cool as the original venue.
I for one am happy that we have another option in this age of the government in a full war against the car and motorcycle as personal transport.
Phil the owner was telling me he is working along with seven trent water to make this successful.
How about getting behind it and giving it a chance.

The Knockerdown Inn under new ownership and new management has got to be a good thing too, as anyone who has ever had the temerity to complain about anything there, no matter how small, like a dirty fork, and then suffered the nuclear lash of the landlady's contempt and abuse will surely testify.

This picture somes up perfectly what caffeine and machine is about, it does not matter what you drive in with, every one is equal.
Here is a picture of my sons friends land rover who was put at the front in between the supercars smile
I love seeing the cars from my younger days from old capris to the 205 gti.

That’s my experience too…there is always a good mix. I was there at the weekend and there were a couple of lovely 205 GTI’s, one parked by a 550 etc.

The mix of cars always seems pretty good.

I did say it killed it for 'me' and the company with me had the same thoughts. As for apps', it suits some but just not for me, I like to 'talk' to someone, ask them about the menu etc you know, communicate and not have my head stuck in a phone. Old fashioned today maybe but seems being sociable is becoming an outmoded concept.
We obviously have different expectations; stuff like the food is very secondary. It’s basic quick food so I just want to order quickly and easily. It used to be right ball ache before the table service was introduced. I’m not too fussed how I pay. I trip out and gas bagging about cars is what I head there for.

The place is far from perfect but is also pretty unique if you want to grab a bit to eat, look at and chat about cars with other nerds.

I hope the new one works out and it’s not too far from me.

FezSpider. Whist everyone would agree that having such a venue will be a great. Bringing such a volume of cars will cause issues. The three roads that give access are all 50 zones. And the road from Hulland past the reservoir will just be too much of a temptation for some. Derbyshire Police are hot on speeding and their presence will increase. But so it should if there are issues. Only time will tell. Il certainly try an early morning coffee and bacon.

My concerns come from seeing how the motorbikes ride visiting Matlock at the weekends.

As long as every one respects the situation, i think it will be ok..
At the original C&M, they work with the police to reach out to drivers and riders, and it has 100% worked. Regarding the volumes of traffic, as I said I live in Hulland and traffic is not as bad as you make out. Most of the traffic is tourist going to mainly camp sites ect. The other two ways in to the location from Ashbourne to Cromford also isn't to bad either. Talking to people in Hulland, no one has shown any negative responces.
The plus sides are the new jobs and opportunities this will bring.
I hope it works out. It wil be what it is I suppose.

I was out with a friend earlier today & the comment about motorbikes is true as I headed down from Carsington to Ashbourne at just after 08.00 & a bike came the other way travelling at speed on/just over the double white line on to my side of the road (heading up towards the Matlock area) whilst in a 50mph zone..

The construction work is underway by the looks of it for extending the parking areas to the venue & the view of Carsington Water is great. C&M will need to be careful how/if they implement parking charges as it could be cheaper for some people to park at the adjacent Carsington Water car park around the corner (which is a good sized car park).

Hey, I 'think' we are on same page. I love these meets to talk endlessly about any cars that turn up be they old, new or super. But, they should consider all forms of payment and not exclude those who only have ever dealt with cash or can't get to grips with cards/apps'? Should accommodate all forms of payment. Why alienate a section of consumer? It's about choice and nobody should be forced one way or the other. I'm glad sense has prevailed and I wish them all the very best in the new venture.

Knowing a lot of the roads in the area in question & how accessible it is to the wider area (if you’re a determined petrolhead), I can see some of the reason for locating such a venue there. I do agree with some of the comments that it will raise a few obvious road traffic issues & could have been better sited on/very close to an A road such as the A515, A6 or the A523. One things for sure, it’ll be a hardy petrolhead who turns up in the winter season for Sunday morning brekkie given how bad the weather can be up there compared to down around say Derby etc. wink

PS, I’ve just checked the selling agents details & it sits in 10 acres....I’d love to see how big a car park they will be allowed given level of custom at their existing facility and how much more sensitive the planners are in the Peak District.
Carsington is well outside the Peak District so no issues with the Peak planners. They will of course get blamed by the locals for every idiot on a bike or car in the area.

We looked at a lovely house overlooking Carsington Water, shame it sounded like it was next to Donington Park instead.

The chap who lives in Hulland and states the traffic isn't bad should get his head looked at. The traffic is mental.

If this was Kennell Meadows Farm, the converted barns, we lived there. Incredible views, but the traffic from the reservoir ring road got unbearable. The wagons used to shake the house. Believe the limit has been reduced, was NSL then.

It was indeed a barn conversion on that site, the view very nearly swung it though. Good job we went to view on a Sunday! In fact we went to the pub in question after taking a look.

I give it two months after opening before the petitions start to get it closed down.

This is it. After living only 1000m from the Knockerdown I know what it will be like. It will be terrible, because that is what it was when I lived there. So if you naturally increase the volume of vehicles that will be using the roads, and most will have the noisy exhaust, it will only get worse.

Parents now live in Hognaston. The locals will not take kindly if sat navs send people down there!

But as I’m no longer a resident my stance on it has improved. Ask me again after I pay £15 for a parking space, coffee and bacon!

We live on the road that goes from Hulland Ward to Derby (if you do Google maps from Derby to the Knockerdown we are on the route). Currently the motorbikes make my life miserable to the point I really want to move house, especially now someone has run over my cat. I'm really looking forward to some fast cars racing around what are arguably some good corners...

Is that from Hulland to Western underwood to Kedleston/Derby way? That is a fast road. What makes the surrounding areas dangerous are the lorrys from the various quarries that always seem to be around every bend, and non locals do not take this intro account. The area certainly has a lot of motorcycle owners as well as some very nice cars. It's always been this way.
Its a bum about your cat frown
30 years ago I lived in a small village of ellastone near jcb. A jaguar e type killed my cat on the way to a classic car show at the Hall frown
