So many decent pubs do a classic/specialist car night once a month too, for free, usually with an outdoor BBQ as well as their regular pub menu, and the turn out can be huge. We're spoilt for choice around here. And The Great British Car Journey has regular meets too, though they charge a fiver.
Any idea how you find out about them?Usually I just come across them at random on social media. I'm fortunate in knowing most of the local ones anyway, but there are probably some I'm missing.
I'm not a member of any local all make car clubs, but they're generally a good source of event information if they have a website or media feed.

A bit confusing, Derby is hardly "The North", it's Midlands at best.

Don't be confused, I started this thread about the potential new caffeine and machine which is in derbyshire. Now the one above is in Derby. Being this section is the Midlands, it sits right.
Mind you though, I go anywhere north or south to visit a good venue.

However some google sluething points out the site used to be an ironworks that built the bennerley viaduct (local historic landmark) for the GNR so perhaps thats more the reason for the name.

The Piston Club near Stratford is the best for me.
Another one to check out. Thanks! When they do have something on, it's well marshalled and seems to be forging a very different path to C&M

Its more of a nod to Derby's railway history, though the Great northern routes were all the other side of Derby to where this is based.

Oh so he was referring to the name "North". Double meaning in his postHowever some google sluething points out the site used to be an ironworks that built the bennerley viaduct (local historic landmark) for the GNR so perhaps thats more the reason for the name.
