Can someone (perhaps whoever started this thread) please just make a decision on where and when then we can say yes or no as I'm sure no-one on here is compiling a list of people's availability or otherwise...

Well...21sts a good date for me...I'll be there...granted in the passenger seat of Piers' car... but hey....

The place we went last time...Peatling Parva...was good...big car park and nice roads on the way...and if i can navigate there anyone can...food was good too...would have to book though as it's mothering sunday all the biddies will be out in force...

I also think that Derby is not really central (and a bit far)...as it would take us and hour and a half to get there...and does it really count as the midlands????

ho hum...everybody vote now!

The 21st it is then. I might be going to bruntingthorpe but if it's anywhere near peating piddleton or whatever it's called I'll try and drop in to say Hi!

Any chance of that map? Also, what time are we going to meet / stay till? Is anyone brave enough to act as coordinator for the day and post their mobile number?

Cheers, Steve

I'm in Derby on saturday, for THE football game of the season, I'll be there if it's in Derby, and might possibly be able to make it to the meet if it's a bit away. Would need some co-ordination though. (My wife has the car and would be picking me up)

Right then...I'm taking the bull by the horns.

Unfortunately we can not suit everybody... but hopefully we will be to suit most of you.

The date will be...dun dun dun...Sunday the 21st of March (I am aware that it is Mothering Sunday)at 12pm.

I have found a pub with lots of car parking space, they have regular car and bike meets and so are used to lots of cars turning up and milling around in there car park. I have rung them and they say we can not book but...he will be able to accommodate us for some food ...but we just may need to wait a little while...which means more oggling of the cars and bikes if they choose to join us (in the modern PC world I would not like to be accused of being bikest).

The pub is called "The Bassetts Pole Pub" and yes you guest it...it's in Bassetts Pole, which is in Sutton Coldfield. This location is kind of half way between the other two suggested venues.

The address is:

The Bassetts Pole Pub
Tamworth Road
Bassetts Pole
Sutton Coldfield

If you want to give them a ring and get directions their number is: 0121 308 0987.

I will co-ordinate the bedlam...if you want to come please email me and i will give you my mobile number and i can email you a map (when Piers has done one tehe).

I hope lots of you can make it and look forward to hearing from you, and that those of you who we saw at the first meet can come and bring lots of friends.

I would appreciate some sort of nod from those of you who want to come as the guy at the pub said to ring him when i know rough numbers.

Cheers

I think there are some bizarre "Derren Brown" type mind games going on here.

As I'll be in Derby that's too far south for me because I can't travel as my wife will have the car........in Sutton Coldfield!

A bit spooky for a couple from oop north!

Sadly I'll have to miss this one as well as I'm in France with the Porkies (Reims Circuit!. However it is a more realistic venue for the 'Midlands'

There is a McDs next door that used to be a fantastic venue called Chequers. It was motorsport related and has all sorts of memorabilia on the walls and a stock car outside.

Progress? I think not!

Hi All,

just noticed this post rather late. I will try to come, but depends on how much i drink the day before when watching England beating Wales . What time is the meet, and will we be going for a drive too?

Anyone travelling up from Leighton Buzzard/Milton Keynes area?

We'll meet at 12pm...it's sunday so have to have some sort of lye in.

I haven't planned a drive but once you're there it's up to you. If you fancy a drive, then see who else is interested.

Due to lack of interest and responses I am having to cancel the Midlands meet in Sutton Coldfield this sunday. Only 3 people have shown a vague interest and no one has said for definate.

So it is cancelled . Perhaps next month we might have more luck.
