Now what happened to all that enthusiasm I detected in the earlier pages of this post Pierscoe1 ???

Why don't we go a regular meet rather than ad hoc ones. This would make it easier to organise as we'd all know where and when to turn up when the date rolls round. A bit like the TVRCC meets say?

Obviously we'd need to avoid the Sundays where a meet already takes place:

TVR Mids - 3rd Sunday of the month
TVR EMids - 2nd Sunday of the month

etc, etc.

What do you think - would this make life a bt easier?

as dontlift will testify (with his karting events) apathy destroys enthusiasm...

OK then, 1st or last Sunday of each month, somewhere in the Bermuda square of Derby-Nottingham-Leicester-Birmingham.

How about Nottingham East Midlands Airport or all that rough open ground that counts as a car park at the Donnington Collection as a meeting point? Have a run around, then find a pub?

Dibs in folks.

Right then, proper run and day out?

We have missed the 1st Sunday this month, so how about the last? Sunday 25th April.

Propose meeting at the McDonalds where the A444 crosses the M42/A42. Having a indirect run to somewhere of interest, like say the newly refurbished Road Transport Museum at Coventry (Thrust SSC is on display), pub lunch mid afternoon.

Any takers?

Good idea. Was at the Road Transport Museum the other week with a view to doing a piece for PH. Big problem with the Transport Museum though is there's no car park so you'd have to use one of Coventry city centre car parks and walk. Not a problem with one car load, but not so good for a large group.

Hmm its not going to be easy,

1) Needs to be fairly central
2) Needs to have a big open space for parking
3) Needs to be a watering hole (Pub)
4) Needs to have some decent roads for a gentle pootle around
5) could do with being where there are alot of women

Cant think of any more things that are relevant please feel free to add to it.

Last Sunday likely to prove problematical for me as C3C meet then. First Sunday of May? (And yes, I know it's a BH weekend)

This will go on forever.

Surely the best idea is to set a date, venue and wait and see??, I know it's soul destroying to make the effort to get people together to find that in the end things dont happen.
So, don't put too much effort in.

Donnington Services (Junc 24A off M1) was a suggestion. It has a large car park and as mentioned there are some nice roads leading from there.

How's about April 25th, 11:00am, @ Donnington Services???

Damn, damn, damn and damn again, I have got to go and do something else instead now, cant get out of it either, it involves giving someone big support at a meeting.

Have fun.

Shame, always fancied a closer look round a Bentley.

Good to see someone getting lower mpg than me!

I may have a couple more people interested who don't post on the forum, it's a start. The age old problem; "you can't please everyone"

We would love to have gone but it is the TVR mini back home that weekend in Blackpool.

But certainly count us in for the next one.

Indeed it does, especially when you have to put your own cash up to secure the venue, and get rampant apathy in return.....!

I will happily arrange a Saturday Afternoon karting event for mids region (but only if there are enough people willing to commit upfront to the event). The circuit is excellent www.suttoncircuit.co.uk/ and has a good size car park for us all, food etc can also be laid on for the event. coast would be around £40 per head
