How about the Lamb and Flag at St Erth? Big carpark, not sure what the food's like though.
Changed hands recently so not sure what it is like now.

The Yacht inn in Penzance is good, has a decent council car park right on the doorstep on the prom.

Sounds good and it'll be a little run from Falmouth etc. Had a quick Google and it gets my vote!

The Yacht is nice, I am not sure about carvery but I know the food is good with decent portions.

Could do a nice B road run around through Newlyn and Mousehole and on then round to Porthcurnow, then back via the A30 to Penzance.

Pick a nice Sunday someone !

Not the 28th of oct as that is impossible for me due to little ones 1st birthday and it would be just my luck to miss the PH sunday meet in my own town !

Leave it until November, SWPH Monthly is Exeter next Sunday (14th), see the thread. A monthly meet is arranged, this will be third. First was near Ivybridge and a drive around the South Hams, second was the North edge of Dartmoor with a drive around North Devon. A more Westerly location was discussed for November.

How about Sunday 11th or 18th November?

Alright Pete, this sounds good! I'll be keeping my Nov Sundays free.

Went to the Lamb and Flag with the Cornwall Sports Car Club a few monthes back and I wasn't impressed with the food or service. Plenty of other decent places around with car parking imo. You know what area in Cornwall you're thinking? I got awesome routes for just about anywhere!

Nice one Oli, let's get the October meet done with first.
LancerG is the man to speak to about SWPH Monthly. I'm sure he'd be happy to pass the baton on. We need to keep it going for us in the far West, we went all summer with only one early morning meet (which was a right laugh!) this year. We've got some of the best roads, lots of driving enthusiasts and some nice cars. Shame to waste it.

Hello Hello Hello

Well, firstly guys - where have you been hiding ? why are you not attending the Devon meets ? all are welcome.
This Sunday 14th at Exeter - sign up here click on me for thread

Secondly the next SWPH Monthly may well be Cornwall in November 11th or 18th as Pete suggested. These are normally breakfast meets, followed by a drive.

I was thinking of something like Kingsley Village at Fraddon 10.00am - Central and loads of parking and a decent sized cafe. But i'm open to any suggestions. We cant go much further south as many regulars come from Barnstaple, Exeter & beyond (East) and the meets are normally done by 13.00 leaving the afternoon for family stuff.

Does this sound viable or does it not meet your needs ?

Sounds like a good location to me, lots of parking for sure. Don't know what the cafe is like but at least you can get a drink of v-power next door. Still tempted to come to Exeter, it's just on the border of being that bit too far, so not sure yet.

Hi, For me Exeter is too far for a trip out, when I read that there were members in Falmouth I was quite pleased and hoped that we could do a mini meet down in the proper South West, not that there North Eastern
southwest you lot live in... wink

What about Kingsley Village ? Would you westerners fancy meeting us there and then showing us some of the local roads ?

I just want to see your Opel really !

Do-able, but not in the Opel, the new Engine and box are sat on a pallet right now ready to go into the big gap left by the old ones.

Be brave and come as far as Penzance, the pubs are good and the roads are fun too.

Hang on, you guys wont come to Plymouth but you want us to come to Penzance ? Why is it that the cornish wont leave cornwall ? Im not trying to start any Devon/Cornwall divide but I just dont get it. I live 20 miles from Cornwall but I regularly attend meets in Bristol, Bridgewater, Wiltshire, Castle Coombe etc mainly because there aren't many meets down this way.
This week I was in Blackwater, in rush hour I still made it to Tamar bridge in 1hr10min, so where do you guys drive to if your out and about ?

BuzyG is excluded as he comes to meets.

I think it's probably because there are never any meets this far down, EVERY event I ever attend is a long drive away.

The topic is about Falmouth members, I am 1/2 an hour away tops, It was suggested that a sub-area meet round Falmouth, helston maybe even Penzance might be nice but it seems to have gone a bit complicated.

It's not that I am not up for coming further up but I think a far SW meet might be nice too, then it doesn't feel like we are always the visitors.

I know exactly what you mean. We call the Bristol boys "northerners".
Sounds like we need another meet down at Lands End (not actually there as its rubbish but you get the idea). Trouble is "we" would be the visitors !!

I will post up the Cornwall SWPH Monthly meet and any of you are welcome to meet up with us - I also wish you luck if you sort a real local Falmouth meet for the hardcore Cornish

Cool, I am glad you understand what I am saying, It's not that I don't want to travel and meet it's just I always do !

A mini meet would be good, then we could get a convoy up for one of the bigger meets once we know eachother.

Then everyone is happy.
