The combination of family commitment, excess mileage on my insurance, my navigator dropping out and smeathorpe drag/drift on Saturday has all conspired against me.
Probably wont make it.
Confirm Saturday.
Sorry.

Will the drag/drift still happen if its raining like its forecast to?

If you're worried about mileage I could meet you near Exeter if you wanted to navigate in my Skoda. I'm going solo at the moment.

Navigator spot taken but you can borrow the Surf, or just bring the barge.

as its an unprepped surface the drag racing happens no matter what the weather although there is even less grip than normal I might struggle to keep with the evo up there smile

Hi Guys,

May well join in as I have nothing to do this Sunday, looks like it will be a pleasant enough day. Will have my housemate ( + possibly his GF) to scare (I mean navigate). I just about remember doing a few of these with the Cornwall Lancia Club back in the mists of my early childhood, so for old time's sake...!

Felix

The Mrs is revising so I have space for a non-gravitationally challenged navigator (with clean shoes). Got to think about the power to weight ratio, especially with the 'Merc C Class' coming along! smile

Looking forward to this now! biggrin Weather is looking as good as you can hope for at this time of year. And half a tank of diesel should see me there, back and the route. wink

Thank you Graham for organizing an excellent treasure hunt taking in some of the best roads on The Mendip Hills. Local knowledge helped us to joint 3rd place but lack of smart phone (or just not being very smart) cost us points!!!
We enjoyed a great drive in the sun, thanks again.

I'll echo that - thanks to Graham and Nicky (and the little helpers) for putting it all together.

Thanks Graham for a really well organised, hoontastic day out. Even Laura enjoyed herself (Although I did notice a bit of reaching for the grab handles on some of the quicker corners hehe )

On a slightly grumpy note, can we save the burnouts and (really) silly driving for when we're out of public view/off the road? I did note a couple of "moments" outside the pub and also at the layby on Chew Valley Lake. To be honest it doesn't endear the locals to us and does, to a certain extent, portray us all as muppets. Crash half a mile down the road for whatever reason and you've already created your hostile witnesses... See 10PS for details.

Before anyone says it, I'm not talking about the very good open road progress made by a few wink It's just the dicking around at picnic spots...

Thanks Graham. My navigator and I enjoyed it a lot. Not sure the terrier enjoyed being thrown around the back though. Got in some decent overtakes and knew I was having a good time as the low fuel beeper went off near the end. biggrin

Sorry if I smoked anyone out, but my car always likes a good smogging when its been in economy mode (which it was up the M5). I should have rang its neck up the A303 and A37 in hindsight.

Well done G, a good route with some good roads.
Weather held up nicely.
All in all, a jolly good show, just a shame that I didn't win a sample of the cake!
