Looks like permanent average speed cameras are being installed at Haldon Hill as you come down to Exeter. Not finished yet so I doubt they are active currently but something to be wary of in the near future as its nigh on impossible to stay below 80 mph on the descent without braking

Yes they have put up 3, 1 at the top (A38 & A380 sides) 1 mid way, where they converge (where the old camera was) and the last one near the elephant with the icecream !.

As you say not live yet but wont be long

Also be careful, as of 24th April the speeding fines are all changing. 3 levels of fine depending how much over the posted limit you are.

Does anyone know if average speed cameras account for vehicle type?

For example it would be really easy for a lorry to roll down this section at 70mph, would the cameras pick him up as speeding, or are the plates not 'run' through the system unless they are going above a certain set speed.

I have a theory that now the Govt have legalised hacking our phones they'll be able to monitor our speed the whole time.
Won't be long before they will do it I'm sure.
