I'll be there as usual, same Caterham as always.
Will be difficult to top the amount raised last year, but we won't know if we don't try!

Hello faithful followers of Supercar Saturday. Tony is quite right that last year's event will be hard to top with 444 rides delivered in the day - that's a car with a passenger leaving the garage every 48 seconds! You raised over £16,500 of which 100% went directly to the Stroke Association on the day.

One of our drivers even went out for petrol and came back with two American tourists who he proceeded to take out on track one at a time! Some bloke in a green Caterham.....

I will post a full car list in the next 48 hours but just to get you going, how about Combe outright lap record holder Simon Tilling in a McLaren 570s? Or circuit regular racer Ray Ferguson in a Ferrari 488 GTB? Or a very experienced sports car racer driving a Corvette C7 GT2 replica?

As always a fleet of Radicals, plus the typical odd stuff we always go for including an Ariel Nomad in tarmac trim that got everyone excited last year, and a 5.3 litre V8 engined Mk 5 Cortina!!

Sat 27th Castle Combe. Gates open 9:00 and first rides 9:30, runs until 17.00 but come early for the best choice of cars.

Looking forward to seeing the list of cars, and Mr Tilling's new McLaren, amongst no doubt a long list of other desirables.
And the long term weather forecast looks favourable too.

Thanks Tony. Just added a Caterham hillclimb car and a Porsche 987 - that's the super lightweight Boxster with the 911 motor in. Magnesium wheels, the lot.

Still talking to a number of drivers and teams about taking part so numbers of cars set to grow for sure.

Are we going to get a PH SW group along?

I'm planning to go but it's weather dependent as I do like to walk around the perimeter of the circuit.

It's a few years ago since I went to the last but these are the snaps I got in case the video wasn't enough for people!

That's a great set of photos Adam, thanks for posting the link. If it's ok with you I will share that with the drivers.

For clarity, we run whatever the weather and there is plenty of indoor space for passengers to use. Both floors of the Strawford Centre, The Tavern and the circuit office and shop are all open on the day. Room for hundreds in there.

We are short on a few volunteers to help with various work during the day, including fitting passengers into cars in the garage (requires experience of race seatbelts), marshalling the paddock and working in the Strawford Centre keeping the event moving. Please PM me if you're interested. All volunteers get a free circuit ride and we provide you with a hot lunch too. Its hard work but it's a great team and you will feel happy at the end of the day!

No problem yellow fever. Share away!
I expect they can download the full Res images too if they so wish.

I thought that was the case re the weather, so unless it's a thunderstorm I'll probably be there. I can't guarantee decent photos though. I've changed camera bodies since then

Terrific input from Bristol Motor Club and I think this is the 8th year in a row now? For everyone thinking of coming, do have a go at your first proper motorsport event with Bristol MC, it is brilliant fun and you can drive whatever you turned up in - in previous years we have had a Land Rover County LWB and a Bentley GT Continental taking part!

One of the previous winners of this event is driving on track with us this year and is a regular racer in the Castle Combe Saloon Championship, so its true to say that this event can be the first step on the motorsport ladder for future racers.

A huge thank you to Bristol MC http://bristolmc.org.uk/

To be a Supercar Saturday driver? It's by invitation only but if you want to talk about it please PM me

For passenger rides, just turn up at Castle Combe Circuit on Saturday the 27th. Gates open at 09:00 and best to come early for the best choice of cars. We run right through to 17:00. Admission to watch, look at the great cars and talk to the drivers in the paddock is just £5. Rides are from £30 for a 5-lap ride in a 'lucky dip' session among the cars on the list. You can also reserve a premium ride like the McLaren 570s or the Ferrari for a bit extra. Remember these are suggested donations to charity and you can add to this amount as much as you like!

You can also take part in the competitive Autosolo event run on site by the excellent Bristol Motor Club. I believe that a package of tuition with the Stig and three timed runs costs around £30, which is the cheapest way into motorsport ever!

Come and have a look, bring all your mates - who can get the fastest time in the Autosolo? Who can do 5 laps with Simon Tilling in the McLaren without whimpering and weeing themselves a little bit?

Thanks to our supporters Simonstone Motor Group, we have now added an Alfa Romeo Stelvio to be driven by highly experienced Combe racer Nick Mizen.

We have also added two Ariel Atoms and an achingly beautiful Weslake-engined FORD GT40 recreation for the afternoon session.

Come and join us for a fantastic day of fun and excitement and do something good in the process.

Just to say a huge thank you to all of the Stroke Association Supercar Saturday 2018 drivers, the volunteer crew, Bristol Motor Club, the Stroke Association staff and volunteers and the Castle Combe staff - great job everyone on what was the coldest October day in 10 years. It takes over 90 people to put this event on and they all work really hard from a 7am start. Inspirational people, all of them.

And then the clubs and passengers who ignored the cold and turned up to support us - thank you! Its your donations for rides which raise the money for the Stroke Association. As you know, your donation went straight to them on the day - everyone involved here is a volunteer and giving their time for free.

If you let the cold keep you away, you missed out on high speed circuit rides in an amazing variety of cars and with some of the best drivers in the South West. We will be back in 2019 on the Saturday the clocks change again, so get that in your calendar and don't miss out.
