Where would you class Stroud or Dursley if not South-West?
The north, I imagine.
Hahaha, Gloucestershire is definitely south west.

The minch airstrip cafe suggestion is good, Av8 at kemble also works although I think a couple of other car clubs ruined it when people started driving like tts so we'd all have to be on best behaviour to make it work as a regular event.

The Fox car park is tiny and I'm not so sure the residents of Coaley are ready for car meets based on the way they react to 1 or 2 noisy cars!!

The George at Cambridge has a fairly large car park and Im fairly certain the chef works weekend mornings.

The Air balloon pub is also a option as they have a good size carpark, are not far from the motorway for those coming up/down m5 or for those from Oxford/Swindon way coming along the Foss/46

Personally, Im am not a fan of the air balloon.

I like airfields as they give something more to look at than cars and can haev good photo opportunities.

I'd be interested in a South West meet, am hoping to get out to a few more meets etc again this year.

And for those in the deepest South West, this may help clarify... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_West_Englandsmile

What about Egypt Mill in Nailsworth? It's got a massive car park. The Old Lodge on Minchinhampton Common is open from 8am too and of course the parking is plentiful down either side of the access road.

The AV8 should be back up and running end of April.

I was up at the catering van on Saturday afternoon and they were saying June before the cafe opens again.

Thanks for replying all! It's good to see that there's some interest.

For the meet, I was thinking of heading to The Old Flying Club at the Bristol & Gloucestershire Gliding Club for breakfast. Their Facebook page is here: The Old Flying Club
They've got a tarmac car park, with no speed bumps, and they're happy to host us, which is always a good start! They serve breakfast from 9 - 11, so I was thinking of meeting for breakfast at 0930-1000 there, and then perhaps head off for a drive at around 1100 - 1130 to finish at the newly refurbished pub in Coaley, The Old Fox. Their Facebook page can be found here: The Old Fox
Their car park isn't huge, but 100m away is the car park for the Church/Village Hall/Shop. Both of which are again, tarmac with no speed bumps. There's also plenty of on road parking.

I'll have a think about dates. Probably looking at end of March/April, once it's warmed up a bit, and I know what I'm doing work wise!
I assume no one has any preference for Saturdays or Sundays?

Fingers crossed it'll all work out and we can make it a regular thing!
It's all gone quiet. frown

Choose a weekend High flier.

I work at The Classic Motor Hub near Bibury in east Gloucestershire, and I'd welcome members of Pistonheads in the South West to come and meet at our place on a Saturday. Our Hub Coffee House and Shop and showrooms are open 10am to 3pm and we welcome enthusiasts and buyers to come along for a browse, some cake and a chinwag.

We have space for plenty of cars, an interesting historic site (former RAF Bibury airfield) and some incredibly historic cars and motorcycles for sale.

Feel free to drop us an email or a call if you'd like to meet up at our place.

Sorry. I’m still in the process of doing the various bits of training for my new job. I don’t have all the dates yet, and it some of it could be over a weekend.
I’ll see if I can chase them to see if I’m not needed next weekend, if that works for most/all?

Thanks Ben! It’d be great to organise something with you guys. I’ve heard of your place and it looks/sounds great. Once my work has settled down I’ll be in touch to organise a date for a little Pistonheads run out to you!

100% in. The Hub is excellent and I've enjoyed several of their Cars and Coffee Sunday events.

Is this happening? Very interested and being 'out in the sticks' probably won't be ruined like Queen Square was.

Sounds interesting. Is there a web site?
