Good news the appeal has been rejected. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-north-east-o...

Bad news, Road Little Sense are talking about appealing again to the Supreme Court and then when they lose that no doubt Europe, I'll be retired by the time they get started on it.

Have to say, pretty pleased that the legal challenge has been refused. I really, really, really hope Road nonSense just leave it alone.

Good news, although I can't see them ever giving up and will probably cause grief while under construction. rolleyes Actually could they just start building the road now? Or do they need to wait until the next appeal has been heard?

They have 6 weeks to decide whether they are going to appeal again, once that lapses I think they can start.

Is the money even still there?

One thing the protestors got right was the cost, no way is it going to come In anywhere near the budget!

Hopefully they don't appeal & it doesn't get dragged through the courts again frown

Complete and utter wker of the highest order.

Virtually everyone wants this to go ahead, one small group of people should not be allowed to delay such a vital project like this.

This guy needs to really give up. This is the road sense website quote

"The anger, bewilderment and sheer frustration of hundreds of people around Aberdeen has led to the formation of a new group - Road Sense – to oppose the proposed Aberdeen By-Pass."

From this day on im going to create a new group

"No Road Sense"

"The anger, bewilderment and sheer frustration of thousands of people in and around Aberdeen has led to the formation of this newer group - No Road Sense - to oppose the stupid tts that oppose the proposed Aberdeen By-Pass and instead, have thousands of cars, vans and lorries passing through residential area's of Aberdeen, causing accidents and risk to people walking."

Count me in shoot Lynch mob anyone? punch

On a more serious note, what would actually happen if they just started construction? I assume some of these people have property in the way of the proposed route (Compulsory Purchase Order, anyone?)

Costs nothing? How come?

Could I have made endless appeals and prevented them from constructing the Stadiums in London for the Olympics games there for example?

No company will start construction with the threat of legal action putting a halt to it. They, Road (non)Sense are quite effectively holding the majority to ransom. It is very much related to where a few individuals' houses are to be impacted by the road.

Nobody else spotted this bit?

BBC Article said:
The appeal, before judges in Edinburgh, was heard in December after it was agreed that Mr Walton's costs would be covered, win or lose.
Find the whole thing a bit hard to swallow but that in particular is catching in my throat. Not only is he costing taxpayers money in holdups and traffic jams, he's also not going to be held accountable should he lose once and for all.

Where I work I can see Anderson Drive from my office window and get to sit and watch nose to tail traffic twice a day. There are plenty of houses lining the streets, can't imagine the owners ever have an easy time selling up when the time comes. Wonder if Mr. Walton has them on side.

This is one of the things that upsets me most about Aberdeen, far too many self important people around who think their view ought to be shared by everyone else.
