Trusted Independent Car Dealers - Southampton

Hi everyone,

I'm in the market for a cheap run around (£3-£5k). At the moment I'm thinking of a R56 Cooper (non S) as it has enough performance to take on a trackday and is modern enough to put a child seat in it when I need to do nursery pickup

Does anyone have any recommendations of trusted, independent car dealers in Hampshire/Dorset (preferably Southampton and Eastleigh)?

A lot of these dealers strike me as pop-up places that aren't interested in selling anything of quality or providing customer care.

The only independent dealer I've ever bought from and been happy with is EW Pinchbeck near Stockbridge. But they don't stock many cars and they do charge a bit more.

Not at all local to you buy very much a Mini specialist with a good reputation.

Maybe they'd deliver it to you?

The trouble with used cars is even the best dealers can buy a dud and will have to improve it to sell on where are a fly by night trader might stumble upon on a perfect car. Most dealers purchase semi blind online via auctions or trade to trade platforms so they are taking pot luck.

If I were you just keep an eye on Autotrader within 60 miles and be prepared to look at a couple. Autotrader but more importantly Google reviews are also a good sign but like anything these can be moderated.
