If it’s the place I think you mean it was sold recently and has had a bit of a refurb. My friend bought the Milbury pub and has spent a fortune doing it up, I go there a lot.

Just ridden past the crash site, no requests there for witnesses but I can see a fence is damaged and a hedge.

The Meon Valley is beautiful, my dad grew up in Corhampton.

I recently parked in the church and walked up Beacon Hill, a nice 4 mile round trip

I went here over the weekend and the guy on the gate confirmed that tickets are no longer needed at any time.

He did warn that on very busy days, a ticket would be useful to guarantee entry, but otherwise not needed.

Seems like a sensible step to me. The ticket policy wasn't working. They were turning people away for not having a ticket when the car park was half empty ffs.

It was an unseasonably nice Sunday morning so probably not a great test, but it was busy, I would say 30+ cars there.

It seems like a good move to me. I would imagine they will see more footfall in off-peak times, as it will be easier to stop in spontaneously.

In fairness to them, the coffee I had was good.

I got an email from Caffeine and machine today. Apparently they are now allowing club nights at their venues.

Perhaps a chance to revive the pub club once again?

Certainly seems like a no trainer, especially with the success of those events in the past!

I don't quite understand why they wouldn't do those anyway. Club nights will fill that place during the weekdays. In winter especially it must be quite quiet in the week.

I don't know if anyone from C&M reads PH but there's a ton of marketing type ideas on here that could help them.

I think it sounds like the fellow is a bit of a twit but he probably feels his mistake has been broadcasted without his permission for all to see and comment on . Except me

I want full control over how my image is used, but unfortunately in the real world if you go out in public then the public can do all sorts of things like look at you or talk to you or film you. The right to break the law without being held to account by someone with a camera is not a right I believe should exist. Nor should I have to get permission from everyone in my street photography before keeping the picture.

Some of the comments across social media seem to suggest he nearly wiped out some people/cars at a car meet the night before and his social media has other posts of him being reckless on public roads so I m not surprised the police might be taking an interest.

To be fair -

(1) It is next to impossible to leave a car meet without revving a bit more than normal.
(2) Being told not to be a dick is like a red rag to a bull. I get why they do it, but sorry, if you want me not to be a dick on a public road which you have no control over then a damn good starting point is not to wind me up by telling me what to do on a public road which you have no control over

Sounds good to me. Never did pub clue previously but I'd like to make a few more local car friends this year.

I’d say that if being told not to drive like a dick makes a “must do” then you probably need therapy or to mature a bit. You don’t have to act based on what that parrot on your shoulder tells you to do or to repeat what you have done before.

They are not saying “you must not”. They are asking you, for the benefit of their business, not to add to problems that they have due to complaints.
