It would be good to get back to the Pub Club events again especially with a rejuvenated Meon Hut.

I went here over the weekend and the guy on the gate confirmed that tickets are no longer needed at any time.
He did warn that on very busy days, a ticket would be useful to guarantee entry, but otherwise not needed.
Seems like a sensible step to me. The ticket policy wasn't working. They were turning people away for not having a ticket when the car park was half empty ffs.
Happened to us. I drove my mum up from Botley to go for a coffee and as it was a nice Bank Holiday Monday, they wouldn’t let us in as we hadn’t pre-booked, not even for a quick coffee. The place wasn’t even that busy.He did warn that on very busy days, a ticket would be useful to guarantee entry, but otherwise not needed.

I vowed never to go back there, especially as I’d had a couple of lunches there in the winter - supporting them when they were quiet etc.
Glad to hear they have seen sense. I’ll forgive them this one time. Oh… Meon Hut, the wee pink coffee van serves cracking good coffee and the lady who runs it is lovely.

Just down the road from me. I had a tour before they opened and it looked like it was being done very well.Mark_S1000RR_2010 said:

We went there about two or three weeks ago, in Porsche s for a supposed Porsche day. There were 3 Porsche s in the car park (all Cayenne s) along with other non-Porsche s. We were told to park in the lay-by as they had people with tickets booked in. Absolute joke because those people could turn up any time during the day, so supposedly they reserve them a space for the whole day.I vowed never to go back there, especially as I d had a couple of lunches there in the winter - supporting them when they were quiet etc.

Spoke to the team running the place. Apparently they have no interest in the themes, they are only there to sell tickets. If you have a ticket then they don t care what you turn up in as long as you have a ticket. They are never going to enforce themes or reserve spaces for themes.
I am giving up with the place entirely.

Are pub club events a specific thing or are you speaking generally? It was quite sizeable for a time, similar to the nights that C&M run, but long before that existed.
There was a Facebook group trying to restart at it a while back, but it never quite took off in the same way.

A few years ago there was a monthly meeting, comprising of mainly PHers, most successfully at the West Meon Hut. Then with one thing and another it became no more.

Off the back of the recent post a date is likely going to be posted on the Facebook group and here for March. It was quite sizeable for a time, similar to the nights that C&M run, but long before that existed.

I have many fond memories of the meetings on a Tuesday night and of course the Breakfast Club organised by Chrissy at this venue and Mike was the landlord then as he is now with C+M.. If I remember correctly there were always loads of photos of the event posted on this South Coast I'll have a search to see if I can find them.
It then moved to the crown and stirrup https://flickr.com/photos/65048885@N04/sets/721576...ecsrobin said:

Happy times, used to have some cracking runs from Bournemouth, willing a few extra horse power from my old Civic trying to stay with Porsches, Vipers, M5s and TVRs, miss you Lee.

I always went with the best intention of taking loads of pictures, but always got sidetracked.
The breakfast meets were good too.
