Thanks to the info on here that they no longer require tickets -- I took an impromptu drive down there yesterday to check it out. It was quite pleasant -- clean, smart, busy but no overly so. Friendly staff across the board, devent coffee, decent nosh, decent tomes to peruse. Would go again.

I must confess, I die a little inside when I travel West along the A272 from the A3; I don't mind so much that Langrish is a thirty when it used to be a national, but the beautiful stretch of the A272 where I used to so enjoy testing my bike and riding on quiet early Sunday mornings is a travesty being bother average limited, 50mph and solid white lines. It almost makes be want to avoid travelling there on principle.

I had one good ride along there after passing my bike test and then the cameras went up. I still use it a lot but it’s such a shame.

If only people would stop smudging themselves into the scenery, they’d have no ammunition to put the cameras up. Next for the treatment is Portsdown Hill Rd and James Callaghan Drive. Another bikers favourite. Getting 10 average cameras in place and all dropped to 30. There’s plenty of handwringing, gum bumping and frothing going on already.
ps, try the Winchester Auto Barn if you’re ever back in the area. I keep rattling on about it, but it’s nothing to do with me, just pleasantly impressed.

I did a for that but google indicated that it was closed on Sunday. A bit the bullet and stomached the avg speed zone.

Looks like the diggers were busy there today as I went past, possibly extending the car parking area? I vaguely remember they wanted to do it to start with, but there were some planning issues to iron out?

They withdrew their original planning application rather than issues arising.

Bit silly but they know how to make an example of someone don't they? A ban and 200hr community service for doing donuts one silly move that involved no-one else.

I disagree. His social media was full of him doing similar things on public roads and his response after the accident was that he did nothing wrong.

It wasn’t one silly move, he was a persistent person getting caught
