Depends which end. I go through it twice a day (work in Birchwood). Few nonces housed on the estate near the town centre. Twiss Green Lane side is nice though.

Twiss Green Lane end, but on common lane itself (B5207).

Looking at moving out of Didsbury area into a quieter existence.

Culcheth has some nice spots, like almost everywhere some not so nice bits too. Access to the M62 & M6 is pretty easy too which is handy. Generally a relatively quiet town though.

Corner of Birchall Ave? Been up for sale a long time. And Common Lane is very busy morning and evening. If it is that one, the school coaches for Bolton School pull up outside on the kerb every morning.

Yep. It looked an interesting prospect in terms of its size and garden, and possibility to extend it slightly, along with ultimately the price.

Interesting it's been on for so long, prospect of it being next to a busy road?

Can't comment on what it's like to live there, but back in 1995 a mate and me recorded a cracking pop dance track at White's Farm Studio on Wilton Lane. Sadly, the record label had to mothball it as another record label who owned a sample that appeared on the track decided we couldn't use it, after initially saying yes when they heard the original demo. For the record, the part of Culcheth where we lurked for a couple of days seemed very rural and pleasant and had some good driving roads.

Personally, it would have to be off the main road if I was buying in Culcheth. You also get quite of lot of farm machinery/plant travelling along that road. Also take note of the farm just over the other side of the railway line. It absolutely stinks most mornings and I wouldn't like to be downwind from it.

I used to commute through culcheth daily. Had friends live in culcheth. Lived around 3 miles away once. My doctor's used to be in culcheth too.

Very busy with passing traffic.

Never liked the place, not sure why.

There never seems that much going on, always seems a bit grim to me. My that's just my opinion, of course.
