Unmarked white mercedes vito panel van, going along at some speed, just checked it's 224bhp according to my car check, don't know if it is but it lit up a spedding fiesta with very discrete but effective blue lights.
2 coppers in it.
You genuinely wouldn't tell it wasn't someone carrying a load for a construction firm. Very naughty.
This was at junction 7 M62, Rainhill just outside Liverpool.
This is a new tactic and primarily aimed at catching truckers on phones, eating etc as normal patrol cars are too low to see them fully. It's official that they are using taller vehicles to this end.Unmarked white mercedes vito panel van, going along at some speed, just checked it's 224bhp according to my car check, don't know if it is but it lit up a spedding fiesta with very discrete but effective blue lights.

Of course they will also make good use of the stealth tactics to catch any one else who falls prey.
Watch out for a silver Mondeo, plate ending GVZ, in the Warrington area. Particularly active along the A57 Sankey Way drag strip between the big roundabout coming out of town, down past David Lloyd and up to The Woodlands pub. I've seen it at various points along this stretch with people pulled over over the past couple of weeks. (and still haven't managed to get the full plate yet )
I gave a string of wild hand signals to a blue Caterham near The Woodlands a couple of weeks ago as the unmarked was further up the road. So if that was anyone on here...that was me on the bike and I was trying to warn you and not being a jobsworth tosser cyclist telling you to slow down. Obviously in the heat of the moment I found it a difficult message to convey only using my hands so I'd be amazed if you got what I meant and I'm sure I looked mad

Hi all I've just joined so just trying to find my way around! I've seen the unmarked silver A4 a couple of times recently, both times having pulled someone over. I also saw the black/grey A3 on its way to something a couple of weeks ago, it was dark so it was hard to tell the colour. I remember getting pulled over once back in the 1990's by a Fiat Tipo, didn't have blues or anything, just flashing headlights which I was a bit surprised about.
Metallic blue 3-series parked up yesterday between Crewe and Nantwich, but I didn't note the registration. Interesting really, passed around 10am and there was a marked BMW estate, then at 1pm the unmarked saloon, then another estate at around 5pm. I've never seen police vehicles parked there before, I wonder what they were waiting (all day) for.
Forgot to post this the other day.
I saw an unmarked black Audi saloon helping at a minor accident in Ashton under Lyne, either A4 or A6 - they all look the bleeding same do these modern Audi's - SW61 K**
I wonder if these black unmarked police cars have anything to do with GMP anti terrorist branch which I believe is now based at Ashton Moss? A while back I saw a huge eclectic convoy of black unmarked vehicles in Ashton.
