I've seen an unmarked white X5
That is a driving school vehicle ... Not operational, usually to be seen thundering South on M66 about 3pm with grill blues on.

The unmarked x5's in Manchester are all ARV's
Not strictly North West, but saw an unmarked X5 in white pulling someone on the M6 Northbound between Cannock and Stafford Services on Tuesday afternoon.

All that jazz

Seen from my truck last night between Chadderton and the M62 J20 was a black X5 with blues on, LJ64CEA. Went eastbound on the M62 and came off at J21 for Milnrow/Newhey.

Funnily enough this was parked outside the in-laws house a few nights ago, blocking the road along with a grey unmarked 3 series touring dog estate (!) and a very nice new shape WRX Sti saloon (dark blue I think).

Funny thing is at first I just saw what I thought were dodgy scallies stood outside their fancy cars looking at each other's mobile phones - I beeped my horn to get their attention. They indicated I should drive down the road and go the long way around but I though don't be fking cheeky and started to squeeze past - it's then I realised the driver standing behind what I then realised was thew BMW dog car was in uniform and didn't look too impressed - thing is they were just pissing around while blocking the Queen's highway so I don't think they could say much. hehe

Shame I didn't have my new dash cam on.

Silver BMW on the M66 today, had someone pulled over on the hard shoulder. Couldn't see much else as a lorry was blocking my view. Also a greeny blue Mitsubishi of some sort in Bury earlier on blues and two's, probably not police though poss senior fire or ambulance officer

AV14HSN blue Hyundai i40 spotted yesterday on Stanley Road in Bootle. I was late for work and he pulled up behind me at the lights. Fortunately I saw the strobes in the grille before the lights changed.

The wife informed me she spotted an unmarked police car in Bury this afternoon, when questioned what it was the best I got was 'a turquoise 4x4'. I think, from the description it was a Mitsubishi Outlander or similar.

Yeah sounds like the same one I saw on Manchester Road heading towards Bury town centre. Was a bit difficult to work out what it was but I think it was an Mitsubishi ASX. Can't be certain though

One of the local not rights around me drives a 53 reg transit with blue lights in the front grill. He puts them on to get through traffic if it's busy.

Strange one in Eastlands near the City ground today, black 2009 X5 originally registered in London, think the plate began with LR09 or LS09, would never have guessed if it wasn't for the blues and twos

I think the police use Alan Turing Way for training new drivers to drive under blue light conditions, I guess it's probably because it's a long straight road. I've seen it a couple of times on there, they go up and down a few times on the blue lights and sirens so could possibly have been that

Interesting, I saw the silver T5 camera van parked on the middle reservation just past the stadium at the bottom of the crest ready to catch speeders going towards oldham road the other day, sneaky!
