Anyone remember Top Marques in Sandbach????? I remeber going past there around 8 years ago and they had a silver BMW Z8 in at one point, always sold some nice cars.
also, Kevin Odlum Citroen? The grand daughter was in my class at primary school and i knew of the owners, I wanted a Saxo VTR very badly. Think they lost the dealership in around 2005.

I did a bit of work in the car industry in 2004 between jobs, for about 3 days, and spoke with that Citroen dealer. Got the impression it was just him and his mate and a few cars. Knew what he was talking about though and was offering some cracking prices.also, Kevin Odlum Citroen? Clitheroe Motors Vauxhall Dealer Clitheroe
Wynstanleys in Southport Used cars, mainly hot hatches at the time
"Erskine and Calderbank", cant remember what they sold.
Moss Nook Garage on Styal road, not a dealership, more a pitch, I used to work there as a kid.
Chartoak Wilmslow, behind the Dominos, went abotu 5 years ago.
Aidan Piers always seemed sort of Pseudo glamourous, was as someone has mentioned, all interesting stuff that had seen action and had been buffed within an inch of its life, a little bit of luxury for the mid nineteies working class boy done good in South Manchester !

I remember(1988/89) the owner having a red Porsche 959,his name was Leon and the reg number on the car was 1EON.
Does this place have a white frontage with a chequered-flag type logo with red text???

I worked at Transound for two years part-time in 1985-87, when I was finishing school. I remember assisting the lead tech there put an alarm in the white Lambo QV 25th anniversary. There was a Dino there as well as a black Ferrari Boxer that Leon bought from Eric Clapton when he was done for drink driving. It was parked outside the shop one day when a little kid on a bike was leaning on the window looking inside and slipped and his bike scraped the door. The scrape was only about 5cm, and I remember it costing something like 8000 quid to repair.
Leon had some lovely classic bikes as well including a lovely Vincent. I think he made a lot of money from cars in the 80's but I don't think the crash of the late 80's did him any favours.
There was a largish bloke that worked there in Sales he was very unscroupoulus. It definitely wasn't the place to go to for a bargain.
I'll see if I can dig out and scan some old photos.

.... the 959 that Leon owned for a short period, stood him at £650,000 at that time!! Unfortunately Leon passed away not long ago, RIP.
I'd love to see some old pictures of Transound if you have them.
As a young guy into cars I often used to take a trip there to gawp and drool at some of the stuff Leon had(My favourite was the 959 with the 1EON number plate).Usually ended up being talked into upgrading the speakers on my car or investing in the latest Pioneer CD player! They always used to try and usher you into the pub across the road whilst they fitted 'while u wait'.I would look Leons cars instead.

Didn't you buy a pair of JJ speakers, or a C & N aerial??As a young guy into cars I often used to take a trip there to gawp and drool at some of the stuff Leon had(My favourite was the 959 with the 1EON number plate).Usually ended up being talked into upgrading the speakers on my car or investing in the latest Pioneer CD player! They always used to try and usher you into the pub across the road whilst they fitted 'while u wait'.I would look Leons cars instead.

Been up to Bygone times today and drove through Heskin, can't believe the old HW Moon Toyota place hasn't been converted into a carpet or tile warehouse yet!
Sign of the times i suppose!
Humphrey Moon lives in the large bungalow accross the road so I guess he doesn't want to upset the neighbours! There was talk of developing it for housing when it initially shut down but that was on the cusp of the downturn so I guess he's just holding on - it's not like he needs the money!Sign of the times i suppose!

John McRirrick a bit! Was that Leon?
I was working on a job at Christies once and called in to Transound, there was a hideous looking Orion outside, H reg ish (this was about 2004/2005) and a really smart Golf GTI Mk5 (not been around long then) - so called in for a nosey at the Golf really and to see how much for a DAB aerial for my then new car.
If it was Leon, a nice chap and let me have a look in the back. Nothing major in there - just a D-type Jag - very nice! Got a few pics somewhere that i took that day.

Hi, yes that was Leon, slightly eccentric, ..... he would have been 65 now! Transound no longer exists, he suffered a fairly large fire there!!
Was he not related to Tad from Total Car Services ?I remember they used to have a very long wheelbase Chevy Blazer, saw it some years later rotting away at the back of the Poynton workshops
