Anyone reccomend me somewhere to take the CLS for a service - merc are quoting silly money for what appears to be a lot " check this, look at type phrases on the service checklist sheet.

Many Thanks

Have you tried MB Leeds as yet ?

I took my motor there last month and was very happy with the high level of service and very keen prices. Age dependent they do reduced hourly labour rates and play fair on parts discount.

Might be worth talking to James the service manager @ Leeds.

Hope this helps sonar

Merc-Care at Pudsey have been around a long time and used to be OK - assume its the same people. Now under the German Auto-Care banner. It was just Merc and BMW of old, I believe - but they had issues with BMW about the name (or BMW had issues with them more to the point).

Just also found Scotts Auto-tec on a Google search. There are bound to be more.

I use www.pecarspecialists.co.uk in Grimethorpe for my Porsche, they do all prestige cars and are excellent.
They are good blokes and are often in the porsche section on here where they always get a good press.
I think they even pick cars up.

I'm not sure if he'll pick mine up anymore - it's a bit further now!!

I can also say Porscheuro do an awesome job. He's been looking after my Porsches for a long while now and will be looking after my Merc plus he's rebuilding an engine on a 997 for me at the moment at a fraction of the cost of the dealer.

I drove my bmw to German auto wakefield was told it would be a £60 repair , one week later was told other issues had accrued , no phone calls was made to myself or any update given , after 10 days I finally got a call saying my car will no longer start as the timming had jumped the repair would be around £2000 but they haven't got the TOOLS to fix the car ? They then returned my car back on a recovery truck , just check beforehand they have the tools to fix your car

Sparky999 did you replace the engine after the drop it off? I have just had my engine cease up after it went in for a oil service. Now the garge cant fix it and told me to get a new engine for it.

Thread bump.

Are these chaps no longer trading.

There is a complete dearth of independant merc specialists in Leeds apart from the merc care place in pudsey, and I don't want to use them.

There must be someone else in Leeds that has the star diagnostics (and can do me a gearbox service).

I called by 2 weeks ago and his unit has been taken over by a different repair company. frown

+ 1, These guys are ex Merc techs, and extremely nice chaps. They looked after my W221 S class. I'd recommend them.
