Hi all,

For anyone interested, there's an open to all Classic Car meet, this coming Thursday - 7pm - at The Smith's Arms, Beckwithshaw (nr. Harrogate), HG3 1QW.

So far, ten of us are going, including the owners of a MG RV8, a TR6 and possibly a '50s Cadillac - as well as a few modern classics - XKR / MGF etc.

Everyone is free to join us. It's a free and non-commercial Classic Car group. From May we're meeting regularly on the first Thursday of every month - always at a pub in the North Leeds / Harrogate / Wetherby areas.

Also, on Sat 21st April - at 3pm - we're meeting at, The Punch Bowl Inn, Marton cum Grafton,, North Yorkshire, YO51 9QY.

There are more details of our group and these meets here:

Welcome to Pistonheads at last Matt smile

All being well, with the TR sat outside once more, I should be there.

Hi Al,

Yes, realised PH is the best way of getting the word out. Hopefully, more and more should join now! (Might go back to having a fixed venue though - see how it goes.)

Glad your TR is back from its winter hibernation. Look forward to seeing you again!

Going to try and have a ride out to Beckwithshaw on Thursday, I've been meaning to come a long for the last couple but something always gets in the way

Hi Ian,

It would be great to see you again. It's not a proper classic car meet unless at least one Alfa turns up - especially if it's a 105!

Oooh, sounds like a good little meet up. Rather nice location as well, the drive to Beckwithshaw via pool bank is always fun.

Don't come up the main Harrogate Road from Poole though. Come over the top road through Leathley straight in to Beckwithshaw smile

Some say that you are not a true Petrolhead until you have owned at least one Alfa. Sud and a Sprint Veloce for me ... hang on...

Knew I had one somewhere smile

Gib,

Hope you can make it. Enjoy the drive there if you do!

Al,

That's the style!

The Sud Sprint might be my all-time favourite car. 1.5 Green Cloverleaf was my first ever driver. So pretty - so 'alive'!

Had another 2, plus a 33. Shame they've all but rusted away.

Can't remember the last time I saw one on the road... Oh yes, I can. It was my last one... totally dead... being towed away to someone who broke it for spares. Sad. (But I've kept a few spares. I know I'll own another one, one day!)

Hi Nigel,

For Thursday's meet, it's 7pm. If this is too early, just turn up whenever you can. The meets normally go on for 2-3 hours.

Hope its a good meet, Mat. Sadly I won't be there, leaving first thing that morning to get down to France for the Rallye des Jonquilles in the Citroen. Should be fun smile

Mat - I have made it a sticky as the other East and West Yorks monthly meets are. Hopefully we will gain a bit of interest smile

Not quite a retro or a classic as of yet but is that an absolute requirement

Graham - everyone's more than welcome to come along.

And for what it's worth, personally, I reckon the Z4 is an instant classic!
