It was my fault - occasionally I forget that people don't always read a forum post in the same tone of voice that I wrote it. smile

.... And I know I shouldn't and I feel dirty every time I do...but there's something about the Evoque Cabrio that I like...perhaps I should have the keys to my 'can't afford a turbo' taken away.
You could always give in to your lesser self and trade in your "can't afford a Macan" and go for the Evoque. Or, because it takes a brave man to admit something so shameful, you are halfway to recovery already. I am sure there is some sort of support group for whatever childhood trauma led one to look at the Evoque and think "its not that bad". It is that bad. It is bad enough that when I see one on the road I think "I'd rather have a Juke!" and then I shudder, head home, open a bottle of vodka, and drink away the memory.

Well, MrsSE and I thoroughly enjoyed it - plenty of very nice cars, plenty not to our taste, but from what we saw a well run meet with a great atmosphere - ta all who were involved!

I think this year was the best yet. Wide range of cars, great weather, no fights or music that is just noise. I really enjoyed it and I spent all morning there.

I spent most of the time 3 wheeling round on my lowrider mobility scooter lol

Relax. Ive a few, I need to edit and upload and ill start a thread later this week.

Driving Yorkshire back roads properly at 07:00 was brilliant. I live in Surrey now and am used to congested roads where its almost impossible to open up the car so it was good to have 45 mins of good flowing tarmac to enjoy.

Last time I went to this meet was when the mustang binned it, this year was much more civilised. Police seemed to lower the tone but that was good as it seemed more like the PH meets of old I remember.

Did you get any of my lowrider mobility scooter? also I agree with you, it was a lot more civilised and the police looked like they were enjoying it themselves. I also noticed it wasn't full of people revving the tits out of their cars, I've never understood why they do that so it bangs

Also spotted you 3 wheeling in your lowrider. Cool bit of kit. Saw you trying to get piccie of the Pulse.......with the two large blokes not moving for you........and I agree, it was the best meet yet. We arrived just after 7.30 and didn't leave until 10.15. Very enjoyable morning :-)

For the record I am nothing to do with SCOM any more having had a complete career change after a very enjoyable 8 years at Malton, hence I have no axe to grind whatsoever.

You do however make the point rather well about snobbiness, how do you know the lad in the modified corsa or Passat, or the Subaru or whatever won't be in the market for a Porsche at some time in the future?

Segregating the car parks would inevitably cause offence to some, as an example how would you feel if the organisers decided to only allow 911s and above in, thereby excluding your Cayman? See how difficult it would be?
quite true went from a 4 year old Toyota to a 2 year old Porsche ....
