I'd like to see you do J45 to the centre of Leeds in "5 minutes" any time after 7.30am through the week.
That's about the time I hit the outskirts of Leeds, 2 weeks out of 3...Duke147 said:
OK; maybe slightly busted... (I noted the time I came off at J45). Of a 31 minute journey (according to Navmii) it took just over 7 mins from the lights on the roundabout on J45 to engine off. That was a really clear run traffic-wise, but was stopped a few times at the traffic lights. Guess time does fly when you're concentrating!
At 4 on a Sunday morning maybe. Any time through the daytime - nope. I work within a stone's throw of the armadillo so use the A63 twice a day and live the other side of town. Your version of "town centre" is probably more like where the old go-kart track is. It takes 5 mins just to do the 600 yards of road from S. Accom Rd to the Ibis hotel at morning commuting times and then there's the mobile car park this is The Calls from the Ibis to the centre of Leeds which would easily take 10-15 mins on its own just to do that short stretch. It's the same story going past the bus station and up Eastgate and even longer if you go via Meadow Lane or Neville St.Sorry but you're talking out of your arse . You cannot do anywhere from the eastern motorway network to the centre of Leeds in 5 or even 7 minutes unless it's the middle of the night and even at night you'd be have to do the A63 at 80 to stand a chance with all the traffic lights at the Leeds end.

Morley is affordable. 20 minute bus ride into the city centre, cheap enough housing/flats, small town with next to no crime.
For some reason housing in Morley is becoming increasingly less affordable compared with other towns in the area, maybe it's the "Wetherspoons effect" or just a shortage of housing pushing prices up but there seems to be a serious lack of "average" housing and not much in the way of apartments if my Rightmove notifications are any indication. The town is also fairly highly populated by people from Morley, many of which have probably never been to Leeds.
It does however have potential, it just needs more people to come in from the outside and for the locally-bred types to stop mating with each other for 30 years or so.

I like Morley, in particular the high street. If I'm feeling bad about myself I just nip out at lunch and go for a brief walk and I soon realise that it's not so bad after all.eatontrifles said:

Well, it WAS 07:09 when I switched my engine off in the Meadow Lane car park, having been 07:02 when the lights turned green at the top of the exit ramp at J45. I didn't stop on the A63 until I reached the lights at the end, then again at the T-junction with Hunslett Road, where I was at the stop line with nothing in front. Greens the rest of the way. There was traffic by the time I got to Asda, but it was moving. Sorry but you're talking out of your arse . I was sat at my desk at 07:20, freshly purchased coffee in hand.
