Loads of vintage stuff around Ilkley yesterday afternoon, was there a local show on anywhere?
There was one on at Burley in Wharfedale. I didn't go but someone I know tagged themselves in there.
Yup: http://www.burleyclassicshow.org/

Green TVR Tuscan passing ASDA in Wakefield - orange flashing light in the rear window.
Is that not just the indicators which are up in the rear window section on a Tuscan?

That'd make sense. Never knew or seen before.

Red V6 Exige (I was in Blue Europa) just off Street Lane.

First time I've seen one around this area.

Woo first spot in the golf. Figured I'd need a sticker with it being a silver VW, haha. I'm not sure I'm sold on the username sticker though... Might be a bit much!

Are you a member there then? Quite a few nice cars in the car park sometimes.

Some less kind people than me might suggest that selling a few more KG of the white stuff might just pay the bill.

.
A colleague knows of the person that binned it, and the agreement is to pay £50k, in £1k installments per month.

It will have been insured by the owner/leaseholder but probably not insured adequately by the person renting it.

Too many incidents of idiots showing off in high powered metal that they have no real experience of and it usually ends up with them ttting something.

I don't understand.

In what world could the driver not be adequately insured? He's either insured or he's not.

How could the renter find it preferable to agree to more than 4 years from an unsecured debtor to get his money back versus getting the repair done and paid for now by an insurer?

It smells more than a very smelly thing living at 1 Smelly Place in Smellyville.

I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if the driver was insured via their drive other car cover on their own policy.

I hired a diesel C class once through a friend of a friend who runs a generic hire place as I needed a car for a few days. All I had to do was show them my license as proof of identity and was told to sort my own insurance out. I paid £300 to use it for 3 days. That was probably what they were paying per month to lease it.

Possible that the trade policy the hire co has covers just the vehicle and themselves as a driver and noone who is paying to use the car without a horrendous excess being applied. The customer trying to save a few bob decides to use DoC on their policy and risk being stuck with the excess not realising they either don't have DoC or that it doesn't cover vehicles they pay to use.

Seen so many insurers now making DOC cover optional that i can imagine a lot of people don't realise they aren't insured, same with legal protection.

Interesting bit is surely the hire co has a duty to ensure the vehicle is adequately insured so should really be asking for proof they driver is legally covered.

Yes - down there at least a couple of times a week. Mine's one of the handful of M4's that frequent the place. Careful if you boot it up the road there, mate of mine had a letter through from the police, residents complaining of "excessive speed" and threatening "enforcement".....
