Harewood hill climb - This Saturday and Sunday

Double header. Saturday is a club event but full entry with all sorts of classes, ( yes it clashes with the match! ). Sunday is British Championship round featuring the mega quick big single seaters. Track has just been resurfaced and hot weather set to continue - will the hill record go?
£10 in, kids free. Full paddock access and timed runs/commentary kicks off midday ish. Ideal picnic territory!

Yep. £10 as you enter and get program etc..Free to access all paddock and we'll worth walking down the hill to watch at Farmhouse and then down again to start line and beyond to chippys/country. Deffo go Sunday if you have the choice as the big single seaters really are amazing. Picnic and a beer would be ideal..
Doing Barbon round today and Harewood tomorrow . Barbon , near Kirkby Lonsdale is not a great hill , with only one good place to watch but the setting more than compensates . Barbon is only 65 miles away but E-W involves lots of small roads for me so it's 2 hours. Might be quiet on the way home ...
Managed to get to Harewood on Sunday. What a fantastic day. We only turned up from 1pm and were amazed at how close you can get to the action and how easy it is to get a decent vantage point. We stayed for a good few hours, had a picnic and a few beers. Ideal.
The thing that most surprised me is the frequency of the runs, there's no faffing just car after car after car.

As ever BARC and BARC Yorkshire don't talk to each other as, yet again , this weekend is also the HSCC Croft Nostalgia Meeting . As racing just pips hillclimbing for me that will be my choice although I will miss the Seens especially at Harewood .

Coppice - I think BARC will have been planning events around other hillclimb/sprint venue dates in order to avoid too many clashes thus maximising potential entries etc. Their income will come from entries rather than spectator gate fees. Hope Croft was good and probably the right choice as Harewood weekend is only a clubbie event this time around, ( however still a good watch + with bonus of a car show tomorrow for those that fancy it. ).

HSCC are running the meeting at Croft, so not much to do with BARC As the HSCC meeting is one of the best sources of revenue for Croft can't see it moving. Similar with Harewood the dates tie in with other Hill climb events and those at Harewood house so it is difficult to move. If anybody from BARC reads this - do tell us why ???
This was the first year I have done this Harewood meeting, Normally I do the HSCC meeting. But still enjoyed myself.
