In your experience when does rush hour start and end on M62?

In the school holidays I've got to do a regular drop off with the kids and pick up between Junction 31 and Junction 24 of the M62. On an easy weekend or night drive, this journey takes me about 45 minutes.

I now have to do it during the week . I'm going to try and avoid the major traffic build ups.

If I'm on the motorway westbound at 09:00 and off at 09:45

then again at westbound 16:00 and back on it at 18:00 going eastbound

will I avoid the worst of it. Is this too optimistic? Could anyone with real world experience of making this regular journey advise me on avoiding the regular pile up timings?

If you put the journey into Google maps then you can adjust the planned date and time of the journey. It uses actual traffic data from people's phone locations (and other data) to give you an estimate.

It can be uncannily accurate.

the morning journey might be a little busy at the start but it should get better as you go. The afternoon trip is in the rush hour.

It should be fine regardless of the time, the government spent millions making it a smart motorway so you'll breeze through, something to do with variable speed limits and lots of cameras.........Oh.
