Who is the best around this area for a set of 20" diamond cut alloy wheels to be repaired please.

no curb/buckle/split or corrosion damage.

The wheels were damaged by a recovery company where they strapped it to a low loader.

thanks
ian

Letchworth Diamond Wheels seem to have a v good reputation. Haven't used them myself but I've got a set that need some attention so may check them out.

BJV Engineering in Flaunden have been doing all my wheels since 1999. Did a fabulous job on a set of OZ split rims and standard alloys turned around really quickly.

Just had a wheel refurbished at Autowiz in WGC.
Very efficient, perfect finish and paid £72 for black powder coat. Recommended.

that's a shame - think the owner lives up the road from me, so would have been convenient to use them.

I have used BJV Eng in Flaunden near Hemel a few times (AMG Merc and VW diamond cut wheels) and have been impressed by their work. They do a lot of new Jag wheels and I’ll be taking my TVR wheels to them soon too

I tried bjv and was sadly disappointed. Wheels were ok at best, service was definitely on the grumpy side and prices were high. Not particularly convenient to get to either (and I live really close if I am honest)
Max powder have done better for me, and are cheaper. Sadly no diamond cut though.

I used Max Powder a few years ago, and they were very reasonably priced. But the work reflected this I think.

The front / outside faces of the wheels looked fine, but they seemed to run out of paint / enthusiasm on the backside of the wheels. If I'd been keeping the car I might have made an issue of it, but I was just smartening it up a bit to sell, so I let it go.

The Wheel Specialists in St. Albans seems to get good reviews.

As for Pristine in Woburn, always seemed to be considered the best, but I'm sure I read somewhere that they had gone out of business.

Add my 2ps worth for any future searches.

Maxpowder - I took a chunk out of a wheel and took it there to be repaired. Came back immaculate but when I went to have it fitted the tyre place pointed out it was buckled. Queried with maxpowder who stated I never asked them to check it over - which was true I suppose but I would have thought an expert might have checked considering the damage. This was 6 years ago though.

BJV - used these to strip and repaint a set of corroded alloys last year and they checked each one on their machine with me there. 2 needed some slight straightening which they did. Decent guys and spent a bit of time helping me with colour choice. Reasonably priced as well.

I haven’t used Max Powder or The Wheel Specialist but I’ve always been pleased with BJV’s work and they’ve also checked and welded 2 cracked alloys for me without extra cost. It is a difficult place to get to but worth it in my view and they were happy to show me around when I asked. No link to them!

Seen their setup and they do visually good work - I’ve not used them myself but know people that have and would recommend.

I have used their sister company next door (herts tints and wraps) and would recommend absolutely.

Popped in to get a quote for my wheels here last week. Nice setup and seem like nice guys. Will be taking my wheels there in the next few weeks.

Shame they can’t deliver this with every customer biggrin

I recently used Wicked Rims in Stevenage who were great-fitted me in at short notice, did a nice job and were reasonable on cost.

Well, presumably people who aren't Andy's mates. People who are in fact customers.

Very new business near me

I don't know if they are any good or not, he was quoting £80/wheel for my 18" M5 alloys...
