I've just got back from work and noticed that one of my headlights is on the blink again, don't fancy driving it in this weather with half-Lotus visibility!

A good night had by all I think.

Well untill my drive home that is frown Had a minor bump on the A63 coming out of the brough exit onto the dual carriage way. No one was injured just superficial damage to both cars. I now have the joy of dealing with the insurance companies to sort it out...oh well st happens I guess.

ETA, nice cars thumbup, and doh at me for not taking any pictures.

Sorry to hear about that Matt, at least most modern stuff can be repaired fairly quickly just the insurance can be a pain in the acensorede. Hope you get it sorted out ok.

Yeah true, the ST will need a new front wing, and a drivers door re-spray.
The fact that it was my fault is what is really annoying, I have kind of prided myself on over 50k miles and the only reason I rang the insurers up until now was to renew it frown. Though if it had been the Cerb I was planning to buy it might have been a tad more messy!!!

No probs, yeah all is good mechanically, both cars were drivable, like I said it is just panel damage. On modern cars the non structural bits may as well be made of tinfoil to be honest so it looks worse than it is.

I called the insurance company this morning I'm going to get the damage assessed, hopefully it will come to less than the excess.

No not at all, It just means I'll definitely be hanging on to this one for a while now to make the cost of repairing it worthwhile.

Went through South Cave which isn't a bad road. I know rhe roads over the tops but it's a bit steady in the dark.

Yeah the orange is by far the most erm.... noticeable ? wink

Seriously sorry to hear it's gained some battle scars, it happens to almost everyone at some point, I suppose the important thing is the car can be fixed much easier then we can - Hope your insurers get their fingers out and get it sorted asap.

Also went into South cave / Walkington Autopilot...

Hopefully the repair will be less than the insurance excess (don't have to pay any on the third party) so I won't have to claim for my own car, it will no doubt be sorted quicker that way.

Well the first quote is in from the ford dealer + body shop in Beverly, used them before to get a few car park dings taken out (see profile) and it is £946 inc VAT. £178 parts 10% discount (New front wing, ST side badge and door rub strip) £250 in paint with a 15% discount (that orange stuff is expensive) and the rest is labour at £23 per hour and VAT.
The whole right hand side of the car needs re-spraying (knew it would to be honest) to make the colour match properly, and they supply a free Courtesy car for the duration my car is in the garage.

Obviously this is my first quote I am going to shop around, but as I said I have used that garage before and I trust their work, always been top notch so I'll have to see what I get from other places.

Hi Matt,

It maybe worth trying the body shop just off the swine moor lane / Hull bridge roundabout, it's hidden behind some trees, take the first left after the roundabout assuming you are heading out of Beverley toward Hull bridge.

Can't remember the name of the place but I seem to remember the owner is called Chris, they painted the stylus and also fixed my Octavia Turbo when the wife tried removing the front porch with the back door yikes, did a good job on both and where quite receptive to discounts if paying cash wink

Can´t see any reason not to keep it on the night. The West Yorks one does and although not as well attended, it´s a pub meet, not a drive out meet. Whether it is light is not really an issue. All IMHO of course.
