Thanks Downthepub. Taking it to have some paint and polish after its little excursion at Alford - nothing major just a bit annoying. Saw you in the 'Stang. Nice car. Love the colour

Lotus Excel (I think) on the Kintore - Dunecht road tonight, not something you see every day.

Talking of stuff you don't see everyday, earlier tonight whilst driving through Durris on the SDR, a red BMW Z1 passed me heading towards Banchory. I can't recall ever seeing one on the road before.

Well yes. Largest engined RHD *American*[1] car on sale in the UK at the moment... In not so demure blue... Bit of a change from a shonky old Jeep Cherokee.

[1] I think. But not exhaustively checked!

Nice, much more sensible 😜 Assume you opted for the v8 and not the efficient one?

I spoke to a chap at our office carpark on Friday with Capa Maloo. It was Running a 427 with a very big super charger.

Reading between the lines, the Mustang GT 5.0 V8 will travel twice as far on a gallon of fuel than a VXR8.
A box needs ticked regarding a V8, I'm leaning towards Ford at the moment.

On a gentle run up Deeside I've averaged over 30mpg - down the dualler at a constant speed 27/28 isn't hard - my overall average over 4K miles is 22.8mpg. But that's with a great deal of city driving with some bouts of spirited trips.

I've found the same - 30mpg travelling from East Lothian to Knockhill was no problem. I average about 23mpg, with much of the travel being an eight mile commute along the A1, so the engine barely has time to warm up.

What were all of the ferraris up to today driving up the royal mile in edinburgh?
There must have been 50+ all with numbers on the side celebrating 70 years of I assume ferrari. They had flags too.

Maybe a long shot - you don't have young kids at a nursery fairly central in Aberdeen by any chance? I sometimes see a Cherokee picking up/dropping off at the one my kids go to.

Yes, 70 years of Ferrari. Each dealership in the country had an event, this was Edinburgh's turn.

I've been led to believe that the other 70th events had Police motorcycle outriders to get through the traffic quicker, or to block side roads/traffic lights temporarily. No such luck here; whoever thought taking 70 cars through central Edinburgh, at rush hour, when the Festival is on, is a but daft. Took me 45 mins to get from Holyrood to the North Bridge. Thankfully car didn't overheat, although I believe the Dino did frown

No worries, figured it was a long shot! Gorgeous Mustang though - not sure if it's your cup of tea but I'm a keen amateur photographer, would love to do a wee shoot sometime you're in the area. I have a mate with a '65 Mustang, could probably even do a shoot with both if you're up for it. Feel free to PM me if you're interested.
