I'm fairly sure if it were a high-profile murder case someone would be able to get IP addresses and whatever else from Facebook, ISPs, mobile phone service providers or whatever else.

What they really mean is "we can't be bothered".
The funny thing is when I told the investigating officer in charge of my case about the face book pages he said "I don't get Facebook at my PC that's a different department I will pass it onto them".

I agree with you, they really can't be bothered.

Bearing in mind that weeks before the evidence garage went up in flames one of the scrotes said on his facebook page that he was going to torch grampian police hq, people have been jailed for facebook posts like that and one for saying "lets riot" Kind of makes a mockery of the whole thing, plus of course grampian polices "no chase" policy means they can do what they like as well, sorry state of affairs!!

They nick a well known garage owners Mercedes not long ago, who within about an hour knew where the boy stayed that nicked it, so what comes around, goes around wink

The whole thing is a joke, I'm one of these young 'chavs' who sits down the beach most nights. If a car is stolen and comes down (which they do a lot) our phonecalls are not taken seriously by the police (I've been told this when I told them that two of the fire departments 'fire safety' focus estates were getting thrashed and raced by tts in balaclavas)

It's absolutely rediculous. Good thing is though that they are slowly but surely getting seen to. By police or other means doesn't matter, it's happening at least.

At one point, there is a massive crowd of the b*stards, and all I could think about was how utterly fantastic it would be to watch an Apache stick a couple of hellfires among them!

So its safe to say the Grampian police force are a bunch of completely useless wkers and you locals are going to have increased insurance premiums next near. You also have to constantly worry if you have a nice car that some scumbags will be breaking in for your keys shortly, safe in the knowledge that the police will not chase them.

What an embarrasment. Thankfully I don't live anywhere near, but I've been following this story for a while, the police force really is an absolute embarrasment.

Just to add some more information to this thread. Where I stay in Aberdeen seems to go through periods of car crime and periods of quiet but recently (as in the last week or so) some scumbags went up my street and smashed in cars front rear windows and front windscreens. A total of 14 cars were done. Police did and will do nothing except make outlandish claims that they patrol the area frequently and never see anything and as an additional step for our safety they also drive around the area.

Don't lie to the people that live there we know you don't because....we would SEE you!

Last week I drove up my street and saw 5 people who to me looked like junkies they sat on a wall across from my home and watched me stop my car, get out and go into the house. They then all just stared at my car and started pointing at it and talking to each other which made me uncomfortable.

Lucky for me I am moving next year but it's getting bad and I honestly feel powerless to stop anything they do. The innocent people are being beaten down whilst the scum can do what they want.

The cars stolen last night in Aberdeen where - a black Boxter Spyder - C20 SHP and a white Audi A3 - 17 JS, Both stand out cars with easily identifiable plates, please do contact the police if you see either. Thieves broke into the house to get the keys.

Completely horrendous.

Image of the Spyder in my profile picture.

If the culprits break the speed limit they will more than likely be caught.......

'Stolen to Order' freaks me out.

Why can't those rockets being fired into Israel be aimed at those twisted little Irish scrotes? At least then they'd be making the world a bit more relaxing

Absolute wkers! I only saw C20 SHP yesterday in the afternoon! I recognize the plate from the Audi too. I will certainly keep my eyes open for them.

If you see them what is best to do? If I have my camera I will do my best to get pictures of who is driving (I did see an Audi getting driven by some chavy looking guy but Anderson Drive a few weeks ago - and when I say 'driving' he was weaving in and out of traffic and speeding. When he saw the camera in my hand he slammed on the brakes and glared at me as he drove by very slowly. I wish I had taken a picture).

Ok ok, so if my car gets stolen or damaged tonight I'll know who did it. I just stopped outside my house after work, got out and some yob in a camoflage jacked and skii hat walked past staring at the car is if I wasnt there, I got out he stopped dead and went right upto the boot reading the badges then when I said" can i fking help you?" he just walked off like I wasnt there. So it will be a sleepless night for me now...joy!

Get your mates round for a bevvy and keep a close eye on it. That's what I would do. Or can you store it at a mate's garage overnight?

What a thoroughly depressing thread. I've read the whole thing through and had hoped for some kind of satisfactory conclusion but it simply beggars belief this st can go and on unchallenged.

I note an absence of the regulars from the Speed, Plod and The Law room, but to be fair if I were a member of the BiB and this was going on on my watch I'd be deeply embarrassed.

Sounds like a jolly good idea

I would love to see a resolution to this problem, permanently.

The police are too tied up chasing petty crap like seat belt and speeding fines, and more pressing matters such as this are left largely wide open.
