Yes I got that mistake sorted on my account, as I explained at the time. Sorry about that.

I notice this hasn't been posted on in a while, but i was recently trying to find someone who would be able to repair my bumper on my Vauxhall Astra GTC as a really considerate driver scraped my front bumper with a trailer..........

I am relatively new to Aberdeen so I knew nobody who could recommend a specific person and i was having little success trying to find reviews online from previous work and those i did find were booked up with lots of trade work etc....

So i opted for Ron @ Chips Away at links street, Aberdeen purely because a handy discount with my AA membership card and i needed to get the work done quickly and i have to say i am not disappointed with the work done! See pictures below:

To me it looks pretty good, I will stay posted with the longevity of the work but so far so good!

Most of the smart repairers are franchises as already been said and you will get good and bad. Some may be time served panel beaters/painters who want to branch out on there own without the cost of premises and a spray booth and the overheads that go with it, while others will have done a Chips Away etc 2 week intensive course, explains the difference in quality. As collingbroon has said the only way to do some repairs is to paint whole panels which takes skill, some people can paint well others cant.

I had Chips Away Aberdeen absolutely ruin my treasured Impreza. They did a fair job on some little dents and a scratch but then totally ruined the main repair to the front wing. They've left visible air holes in the filler, not blended it in, and then not matched the paint properly.

I complained at the time and told the manager I was not happy and would be bringing it back but decided against allowing them to bodge it further.....total rubbish!

I used ChipsAway this year for damage on my CLS - the paint match (silver) was perfect as was the repair and finish. Id highly recommend.

Could you PM me contact details for your business smile Cheers
Mail sent!
No offence collingbroon, but if I as much as sneeze on here to indicate I am even hinting at advertising my classic business my whole threads are instantly removed by the mods.

It's quite clear now that it must be some poor deluded idiot that has nothing better to do than report those who are only trying to help. It seriously pisses me off! It would really make my day to find out who it is!!!

Apologies for the thread resurrection but would anybody care to pass on Mr Broon's contact details? It seems that his email function has not been enabled.
