Kind of off topic, but anyone doing the route for the next few months won't miss this. 61,000 tons of rig. The first customer of the (renovated) huge dry dock at Kishorn arrived yesterday.
Superb photo - have tried to get similar in the Cromarty Firth in the past but the iPhone camera doesn't really cut it! Your photo would certainly brighten up this BBC article! https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-highlands-isl...

Apols for self publicity, but it's a good cause!

We’re heading towards Aviemore, Ullapool Applecross and Oban up next weekend. Fingers crossed we see Applecross and Ullapool dusted in snow.
Were you with the blat led by the 'Castrol' livery cars I just saw parked up about 1/2 mile from my house? (Just after Shieldaig)Perfect blat weather!

Guilty as changed m’lord!! I was driving one of the castrol cars we had an amazing weekend with fantastic weather couldn’t ask for anymore. Thank you for weather updates :-)
wow, amazing cars and weather there. I'd kind of forgotten the Celica a bit but they look just right, and I don't just think it is 90s rose tinted specs either! Presume they are perfectly suited to that weather too. Blown2CV said:

The Celica GT4 is a well balanced car, where others failed we succeeded!! We covered approximately 1000 miles over three days in what can only be described as glorious weather. It was our seventh visit to the Highlands and last weekend was arguably the best, no camper vans, no rv’s, no bikers, no cyclists, no ramblers and no cows or sheep on the roads!! We had the Highlands to ourselves and it was awesome. Thank you Scotland!!
Whilst not really on the supposed NC500, the Gairnsheil bridge is due to be closed for 2 weeks from Monday the 4th of Feb.
And the Ocean GreatWhite at the moment is due to stay in Kishorn until the middle of March, but that can easily change!
