Announced yesterday by The Duke of Argyll, and to be held at Inverary Castle in June, The Argyll Festival of Speed promises to be a prestige, Scottish event. More info here... https://www.facebook.com/ArgyllFestivalofPerforman...

This is well worth supporting in 2018 as Scotland lacks a 'McGoodwood' in the summer diary and this location is ideal.

Very interested in this. Hopefully it'll be a better event than the first Ingliston Revival. I'm not holding out hope of getting a hotel though.

Stunning looking seen it a few events ..going with my Boxster Spyder on the TIPEC stand over the weekend .The problem I see is accommodation as most cars will have to be displayed Sat/Sun so the owners will have to find a bed .

Looks like it could be a great event but isn't it a one road in and one road out sort of place? Roads will be carnage.

So that's £80 for me and the missus, fuel there and back and probably extortionately expensive food. I was interested in going but think I'll be giving it a miss - a pity because it does sound interesting and different.

Yeah I agree with you, I was going to take the family, but its too much for me. I thought if my car was eligible for the interesting car park I`d get in for free! all you get is £3 off parking!

Living relatively local I was intending to go.
Wife has said she won't go but I can take young son

Nah, think I'll give it a miss at those sort of prices......

We appear to have two threads on this.

The prices are plain crazy. The ticket prices have further fees on top of them as well. It's £42.40 for an adult, £31.80 for 5 years+ and you still have to pay for parking.

A family of 4 is over £150 with parking.

Ignite was £70 for a family of 5. Tickets ended up on Itison for cheap.

Ingliston has ended up on Itison for £10 both years from the original £20.

The Deeside Speed Festival is only 2 weeks later and costs £40 for a family of 4 or £15 per adult.

I think they need to rethink their prices.

Looking at their website there are quite a few unique elements to this festival.

Prestige car and memorabilia auction, concours d’elegance, 25 top car clubs, 4x4 demonstrations, vintage bus rally, trade village with Ferrari, McLaren, Lamborghini, Bentley, Maserati, Tesla etc exhibiting, plus they plan to demonstrate some very interesting cars such as the ex-Jackie Stewart Tyrrell 001 and the unique 1912 Fiat “Beast of Turin”.

They are also running vintage buses to/from their park and ride car park, plus there is a free “interesting” car park if you are arriving in a pre-1999 car.

The Jim Clark Trust is the chosen charity with a donation being made with each ticket sold.

So there should be a lot to see and there are more announcements to follow.

Must admit my jaw dropped at the entry prices.
Add petrol for a journey from south of Glasgow and it becomes more than I can justify for a day out.
Shame, as it seems like an interesting event.

I've just entered in the Merlyn. Most local hotels seem to be booked up so I guess I'll be familiar with the rest and be thankful (x6) by the end of the 3 days wink

I assume the entry charges take into account putting a new roof on the Castle?
