I think the last couple of weeks has merited this thread being resurrected. Queensferry Road down to one lane in both directions which is causing mayhem, to add fuel to the misery it goes back to 2 lanes then more roadwork's as you hit the Barnton. Last week there were temporary lights on Ferry Road which weren't working leading to chaos, people chancing it by running the Red Lights.

Is this not the and rush to get things done pre the Festival embargo?

Still hopeless planning - just illustrates the dreadful transport infrastructure in the city.

Maybe the Greens were right about stopping a third lane on the Queensferry crossing - there would be nowhere for all these extra Fifers to go!

This thread reminds me that there are many paint marks around all the defects on the Cowgate farm track.

Can't find anything listed in the usual works list but guessing they'll close that for ages the very second the festival ends.

Not sure what happened to the A702 (city bypass) this week going westbound during the afternoon peak. Since the schools went off it was a pretty clear run save for a couple of changes of lights at Sheriffhall though to Straiton. This week has been awful with the Shefiffhall queue back to the A68 and then again from Gilmerton, almost as though the school holidays ended. Adding a good 15 minutes to the journey compared to a fortnight ago.

Going on the bypass eastbound every Thursday evening at around 4:30pm it's always much quieter during the holidays. Same as town itself. I suspect some of it is no ferrying Constance and Jeffrey to sports/art/ballet and 10-20% on any given day being on holiday somewhere.
