Afternoon all!
Heading to Skye later in the month for the first time ever. Swinging by Elgin to pick up caterham - second time renting from Boyd highland caterham hire.

Staying in Glendale but there for 4 days so are there any roads (on way to / from) or must do things while in Skye ?

Doing three chimneys on Friday night.

Cheers

At rip round the Applecross peninsula either on the way there or back. Or both!

Make sure you go up the Quiraing road as well.

Get to the north of the island - completely different to the touristy south. Might see a whale, if you're lucky.

Roads are all single track up that way, but it's worth it...

If the Glenelg ferry is still running it's a much nicer way to get across. A good run at the Mam in a Caterham would be fun I imagine.

As noted above, north and West is quietest on the island. I'm not sure if they have started work on the Broadford fuel station yet, but that will leave no fuel between Kyle and Portree for while when it happens.

I went around 3 weeks ago - Depending on what you an planning to take it will take a right beating, I went right round skye and some of the roads are in shocking condition!

They are starting to do repairs but they are of the same pathetic nature, just chips overlayed and they spray all over your car. Not sure if thats all gone now but it did dampen our trip somewhat.

We took the ferry from Mallaig to Armadale

Cheers for some of the responses.

Will certainly try to get to the north.

Cheers for the heads up on possible stretch with no fuel.

Shame to hear the roads are in poor nick - will maybe need to look elsewhere like applecross for a little hoon.
