Best car park in Glasgow city centre?

Hi folks, I’m looking for some help on finding a suitable place to park my car in Glasgow city centre.

I'm driving down from Aberdeen tomorrow
morning for a work event and so I’ll need to park my car somewhere for around 5 hours. I’m sure some of you on here are the same as me when it comes to picking a car park - it’s not about the cheapest option, it’s about which has the best layout/design and will be the least likely to damage my car! I’m not keen on street parking, because I don’t fancy driving around on a Saturday trying to find an empty space, plus I’m not comfortable leaving the car somewhere where a constant stream of people will be passing by.

I drive a low Porsche Cayman with 20” wheels, so a car park with wide/gradual curved ramps is an absolute necessity. No tight ramps and sharp corners - and decent-sized spaces would be a nice bonus. Also, a car park that is generally clean and safe and with restricted access would be great too - have heard many horror stories of dodgy folks hanging around in multi-stories..

So, what are some car parks that suit my needs? It can be anywhere in the city centre as I don’t mind walking a bit to get to where I need to be. At the moment, I’m looking at the Cambridge Street car park, or even the Concert Square one. The NCP on Mitchell Street is definitely out as I’ve heard the access ramps are incredibly tight, same with the St Enoch centre.

It would be great to hear which car parks are recommended or even simply the ones that I should avoid, so that I can at least narrow down my options.

Also avoid:

Buchanan Galleries carpark - steep inclines that will scrape the nose/underside of a low car
Q Park Waterloo Street - a quite ridiculously tight spiral taking you up/down levels, an inch or two out and your wheels will be kerbed to fk

The Q Park on Waterloo Street was on my list of options, so thanks for the heads up! Won’t go anywhere near that one!

I use Q Park St. Enoch, Fox Street off Maxwell Street.
Only access is east bound along Clyde Street. Turn left onto Maxwell Street and immediately turn right onto Fox Street, short dead end. Car park entrance at the end.
Wider spaces, painted floors. Electric pedestrian door needs the ticket to re enter. I think it's a Gucci of car parks.
What do others think?

Park in North of city and jump on bus?

Where in the city do you need to get to?
Would Shields Rd. Park & Ride work for you (£5.40 all day incl. your return Subway ticket)?

Blackfriars rd car park has no ramps, no cover either though.

I would rule out Q-Park Jamaica St due to the tight spiral ramp to get in.

I can't get into NCP Glasshouse in my Chevy either as the ramps angles are too sharp for something so low.

I'm assuming you're Cayman is lowered? As I drove into the Buchanan galleries car park fine with a 997 Carrera 4S on 19" alloys.

Usually go there for convenience when going to Glasgow shopping. Bloody expensive though for a day.

Bit late now but as above, park and ride at an Underground Station..Kelvinbridge is a good safe option, you can park safely away from others on the outermost spaces, would never use any of the multi-storey city centre car parks

Ramp immediately after the barriers grinds the splitter on my 4 series and it’s not lowered or even particularly low.

Unsure if still of use but if you have an office based in Glasgow then you’ll be eligible for a £5 single entry daily ticket or £25 weekly multiple entry from St Enoch. I’ve had it now for nearly three years and it is exceptional, dry and safe parking in the centre for £5 a day.
