I cant afford to lose my licence ( drives at 100 MPH+ ), creeping up to 80-85 without realising I could understand, did it not hit home from looking at your speedo or wondering why you were the fastest on the road ?

Read the thread road captain, I would have done the same given the circumstances.

It’s a load of rubbish to try to guilt trip us.

His first post stated “I know total stupidity”... so obviously he was just being stupid.

Just another speeder trying to wriggle out of it.

We all speed, unfortunately only some of us accept the consequences.

Not a gult trip mate! It was a genuine! It was stupidity that I was doing that speed! That’s why I said that! But my wife was going into labour! And my child was breached! With her heart rate falling!

I only know too well about speed limits as I work in the Traffic Management industry and know how important a speed limits are. So thanks for your words of wisdom they are all very much appreciated.

We all speed - and the penalties are ridiculous. Lets help a member out instead of trying to be sanctimonious. I hope your lawyer can get you out of it op.

If I was involved in a medical emergency I would drive at whatever speed I felt necessary to get wherever I was going as soon as possible.

No apology needed.

Unfortunately Scotland treats speeding much more severe than England as I found to my cost a number of years back on some motorway above Stirling. Almost empty motorway and bone dry weather but cought doing 100, long story short a fine of about 900 and 6 points. Hope the OP has a good outcome

Good luck, imo the only possible stupid bit was creeping over the ton but in the circumstances understandable!

I wouldn't jusitfy yourself mate. Its done with and thats it.
Plenty of speeding threads show up time and time again - you will always get people from both sides of the coin.

As others have suggested - make your life easier and get someone with knowledge on the case

Thanks mate, I know there is always people that are a bit condescending! It wouldn’t be that, if they did something wrong it would another story! And I very much doubt that the majority of drivers on the road drive at the correct speed limit! Please tell me someone who does? Be it that its 2mph over or 100 mph over, it’s still against the law!

The saying “People in Glass Houses should never throw stones “ comes to mind!
