First heard about this yesterday.

Initial thoughts: Ideal location ..with the old [stage] road leading up to the centre. far enough away [but in reality almost on the doorstep] for the central belt...trouble being is there enough interest left to make it viable?

I hope so, the hairpin on the military road was always a great place to spectate and usually being stage 2 or 3 you got to watch hear and smell the majority of the field in action prior to them hitting the forests..

If I remember correctly, Jackie was wanting to build a new F1 circuit at Ingleston.
There was also talk about building an F1 track near Harthill.

I raced at Ingliston once. Memorable for the proximity of the showground buildings like RBS and Scottish NFU to the "track". Oh, and lots of trees.

I might be wrong with the name but is it Shawsburn? Just after shotts heading east there is a loch down to the left and just before it was an old circuit which I think is still used for some competition. Pretty sure there were initial plans for it to be developed into an F1 track previously. God knows where funding would have come from for that!

Forrestburn.

There was an event on there yesterday, and it is part of that development proposal.

Might as well build it on Mars, it's about as easy to get to! Love the Rest, and I've competed there, but the only place that makes commercial sense is somewhere between Glasgow and Edinburgh, or slightly south of Glasgow like Motherwell with good transport links.
