Little rant

Hi all, so I was on a single track road in my van last night when a kid rushed round the corner in his new Mercedes he passed a passby by about 20 foot, my passway was about 150 foot behind me and then stopped in front of me and asked me to move back. I told him he just passed one, to which he said "SO what, you move" this went back and forth for a few minutes...
I then had 4 cars from what I could count behind me, and he had nothing behind him, he just smiled and was like you move because I'm not!
15 minutes passed!!! I was stuck but trying to keep calm but I was starting to lose my cool... He was acting like a idiot to put it politely
So I edged towards him, hoping he would move back not wanting to damage daddy gift... I'm guessing my van made contact because he jumped out with his phone in hand recording me saying I rammed him but his car didn't move! Anyway he won... I had to walk behind the van and ask everyone to reverse, then he called the police and said I cracked his badge on the car (I have no idea if I did, I don't think I even made contact) but to be fair it did have a crack on it.
The police said we have to share insurance details etc and they can't apportion blame etc
I have no damage to my van
He said he had a dashcam which is fine as I don't think I made much if any contact, I know it was stupid of me but I'm guessing he will be claiming off my insurance!
What a waste of 30mins and I'm guessing my excess?

I'm guessing I have no leg to stand on as I took the bate...

Sorry just needed to rant

You drove into his car deliberately. - end of story.

If he was causing all this chaos didn’t driver 2,3 or 4 intervene?

Really feel for you, get it all the time here.

Usually two categories: 1) Just passed my test and now I am a Rally Driver or 2) This is MY shortcut, how dare you.

I ended up interfacing with a tree avoiding one of the latter.

My average speed on these lanes is now well under 30, usually 20 - just so I can have a chance when I meet these muppets.

If the dashcam shows the damage, it will also have recorded his whole stroppy scene... given you are in it, and now have his details you could request a copy.

Very true... Sadly apart from horning didn't get much more help.
He was one of those smug kids who "feels he knows his rights and every loophole" just lacks human touch and common sense

Thanks for your message, he was definitely diver 2
That's a good idea but I'm guessing he doesn't legally have to send me a copy?

I'm assuming you couldn't waste any more time.

Me, it'd have switched the motor off and settled down for a snooze.

The only thing you did wrong was lose your cool and blink by moving forward. You probably didn’t touch him - he’s probably just being dramatic.

I’d have sat there, turned my engine off and bedded in for a long stand off. You could then have filmed the comedy of watching him try and reverse.

I met one similar down in Devon in Mummy’s Audi A1 - myself and 2 cars were up on the bank as far as we could go, he didn’t want to touch the grass in case he scratched it. Each new car going the same way as us joined the wait. We were there a long time.. eventually he had to drive through and the car survived the touching of the grass verge.

So you drove into his car because he wouldn't move for you?

That's the problem, he was like I have all the time in the world, as he mouthed stuff to me and put his arms behind his head...
I'm a happy go lucky window cleaner, anyone else would have pulled him from his car and done what his parents should have...

I'm guessing it does not exist.

Assume you took photos yourself of his car and your's?

Assume you may have taken other people's details as witnesses to his idiocy?

I really feel for you OP. People like that just need a good kick in and more than likely he’ll try act like a billy big bks with the wrong person one day. It’s inevitable.

Just try to ignore it and move on. These are the types of situations you wish you had just reversed back and ignored the clown but human nature is a funny thing, coupled with stress and deadlines etc.

If you don't think you hit him tell him to do one.

Personally I'm amazed the police turned up. And given that they did I'm even more amazed that they didn't take the time to tell this prick to stop being a prick.

How did they get the chance to take off? Interested in after the 'contact' did he then reverse? if that was the only passing place then you can't have pulled over so how did the cars behind go past you both? or was the passing bay big enough for you both? just trying to picture it?

Likewise, I'm surprised they turned up.

OP, who rang the police?
