Good morning all,

I think I am in the need for some new winter road cycling gloves. Looking around I came across Enduro Nemo Glove II, are these recommended?

Thanks

I got a set of these - https://bike.shimano.com/en-EU/product/apparel-acc..., from Decathlon.

I can't rate them highly enough - they kept my hands warm through an entire night! I haven't put the water resistance to any great test, but for warmth, they're amazing.

I have some DHB Averly ones (I think). They have been quite good but worth ordering multiple sizes so you can check what works on the bike. Mine are a touch big when hands aren't on the bars.

I can recommend Endura though. I have had my autumn Endura gloves since I started on the road back in 2010 and its only in the last year that they have started falling apart. I also use Endura MTB Humvee shorts every day and the original pair lasted for three years until I had to get them repaired in multiple places. Funnily enough the fit is better on the older pair than the newer pair, so I have just sent the old ones off to be repaired again so I can use those instead of the new ones.

German Army Suplus mitts (canvas with waterproof membrane) with merino wool liner gloves kept me warm this morning.

Bought the Dissent 133 pack for this winter. Used everything but the full winter later so far. Really impressed!

I commuted 20k every day for the last three years by road bike; -12 was the coldest last winter. I swear by Planet X Crab Hands. They're about 15 quid and do the job.

I have found starting every day at 0700 and checking the temp before I leave has given me a set of clothing solutions from Summer to Winter, but layered stages, buffs and a good under helmet hat does the job. On the coldest days, if your hands are cold, it's not the gloves, it's that your core is cold and your body is protecting your core - but your hands get cold.

If your hands are cold, but a thermal undershirt on.

I agree with this.

Keeping your core and arms warm is the key.

Adding base layers and arm warmers to suit.

You do get a feel for what you need to wear based on the temperature and conditions.

Good to hear that. Mine turned up today but they're a Christmas present from my wife so I won't be trying them out just yet. At least I'll have them for the Festive 500 if the weather decides to be unkind this year.

Mainly using the Showrelite ones currently. Keeping me dry and warm. Wore the silk layer underneath once and massively overheated!

Winter here in BP will be a good test of the heavy duty winter ones.

Thank you all for your input, lots of choices to have a look at.

I am looking for glove that isn’t too bulky but warm, waterproof, not really that important if that helps.

Thanks all

I’ve been using these for the past few winters.

https://www.decathlon.co.uk/rc-500-winter-cycling-...

I’m often riding in to work at 05:00, and during the winter it can be stupidly cold at that time. On the severest cold rides, I put a pair of these on, underneath.

Jeez, 20k miles every day, that's some commitment. Even if you cycle for 24 hours straight that is still well over 800mph biggrin

Do it! This will be my third year and I’m actually really looking forward to it. The weather was particularly kind last year so it might be a bit tougher this year. It certainly helps offset some of the Christmas excess.

I can only dream of overheating hands on a ride! My hands and feet are generally freezing so I’m hoping these and some Fizik Artica R5s will sort me out.
