Been reading that they are still pushing ahead with this, but I cant see any maps to see where it would cover. Does anyone have any more detail?
I can see this tanking the price of pre 2016 diesels.

All vehicles (barring a probable exemption for motorcycles, tricycles etc.) will have to comply with whatever emissions levels are set or be charged. Currently looking at 2023 for full introduction iirc, delayed due to Covid.
Taxi trade are already trying to get an extension to 2027 due to the effect of Covid on their members finances.

Would this not be fairly redundant if all new cars in Scotland are to be non polluting by 2030?

The only times I’ve been in Edinburgh City Centre in years is to go to the Apple store. It’s a nightmare driving anyway near the centre nowadays.

Park at the Omni centre, walk up to the end of Princes Street go to the shop, then back to the car park and home.

Any further discouraging of traffic will simply mean I’d never go there at all.

Nature of my work is the requirement to drive into Edinburgh at any time to respond to call outs.

Not confident either the council or my employer will initially account for that. Not sure how it works in London, guessing the employer must be covering the fees.

Motorbikes are covered too my wr250 isnt compliant, my trafic isnt compliant, my allroad isnt compliant, my man tge is compliant but doesnt fit in most of the available parking spaces. looks like a few edinburgh clients will be getting ditched. My glasgow city centre clients have service yards the man fit in so its not so bad.
Its insanity a 10 year old cayenne turbo is compliant but a 250cc motorbike isnt.
I have always hated trying to carry out maintenance at city centre locations its time to stop I think.

"Glasgow's Low Emission Zone will apply to ALL vehicles except motorcycles, mopeds, motorised tricycles and quadricycles. The expected emission standards are:

Euro 4 standard for petrol vehicles (generally vehicles registered from 2006 onwards)
Euro 6 standard for diesel vehicles (generally vehicles registered from 2015 onwards)
Euro VI standard for heavy duty diesel vehicles such as buses / coaches and HGVs (generally vehicles registered from 2015 onwards)
Vehicles which have been appropriately modified or retrofitted to meet or exceed these emission standards will also be permitted entry to the LEZ."

Ever since I started driving on business (so since ~ 1982 ) Edinburgh has always struck me as the most anti-vehicle major city centre certainly in Scotland if not the entire North of Great Britain ...
& it has got progressively worse over the years.

That contradicts an edinburgh council page I was reading previously that stated motorcycles had to be euro 3 although a different edinburgh council page I just read states motorcycles are exempt. cant beat a bit of consistency.
